 I'm a self-taught drawing artist and artisan crafter from Argentina. Though I've never been instructed in any art fields, by effort , love, and lots (decades!) of practice, I have managed to make a humble living doing the things I love! ^^ . I enjoy almost any form of art, as well as I love books, movies, history, horror stories, biology, epics and mythology. Any kind of interesting creature or story will surely wake my curiosity... Smeagol/Gollum, from The lord of the rings  and the gorgeous Skeksis from The Dark Crystal  are my favorite fictional characters and have always been an endless source of inspiration for my works of art ( inspiring me to do extensive fan-art pieces and echoing in the aesthetics of my original works.)Within Tolkien's world and Jim Henson's The Dark crystal-with it's wonderful cast of puppets who seemed to be living and breathing creatures- there were born and still lay my first and dearest inspiration sources! I grew up watching over and again the wonderful Storyteller, also brought to us by Henson, and along with the Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and many animation movies and old books featuring mythical and fascinating creatures, such as Tolkien's Lord of the rings and many others by Poe, Lovecraft, Lord Dunsany and Ciruelo Cabral, I breathed and lived fantasy and strangely wonderful creatures since my first years. My love for them has remained the same ever since. After spending many years of my younger days striving to become a paleonthologist *and miserably failing at raising funds for the career  * I found myself more in love with working in sculpts and crafts than the love I felt for digging (and believe me, that is a lot to say!)...Since then, this love has grown to be a profession: nowadays I live on selling what I craft and sculpt. My biggest and most heartfelt passion still lies, however, in Illustration, drawing, and comic-strip making!

The Dark Crystal is probably the fandom I appreciate most out of the very few I´ve belonged to: it has allowed me to meet beautiful people, kind friends, and have some of the most intersesting conversations and topic discussions!
All of you, my friends from the fandom: you know who you are!
I´m proud and happy to have met you through our mutual love for this beautiful classic movie and its creatures and characters (especially skeksis! ) , and I hope we´ll keep always having the amazing talks, pleasant debates and sharing this awesome fandom love !here they go: as the topic requests: 5 pictures I love inspired by the Dark Crystal! :

I just can´t get over with how awesome the skeksis look in this art concept redesign made by my friend 
In short words I. Love. Them! 2-
- I really love the delicate colouring and details on this piece, I think it´s a precious homage to the Dark Crystal and it´s evident that it´s been drawn by a true fan ^^3-
- I truly enjoyed the manga Legends of the Dark Crystal, and as a fan I think it´s the best and most underrated of the recent official creations related to the Dark Crystal! This small set of chibis by the talented Heidi Arnhold, who was that precious manga´s artist, has always left me going "awwwww!" ^^4-
- Because Skulpturen, who made this awesome drawing, is a hearthy fan-and also it´s no other than skekSil! My favorite skeksis! How to resist? ^^5-
- I´ve always felt in awe before this artist´s ability to capture mood, emotion and realistic textures, his art is breathtaking! also, his art based off the Dark Crystal (mostly the skeksis) is some of the most amazing I´ve ever seen! ^^ I hope you´ll all like my selection! ^^ And YAY for the Dark Crystal! ^^ <3

SkekLa's neighbourhood (at least 5 streets if not more) are currently experiencing a problem with their electricity due to the recent heatwave there causing their power supply to overheat and breakdown. This has been ongoing for some days and she is uncertain when the power will return, but I want to assure anyone worrying here that she is safe and well, and should hopefully have access to dA again anytime now

No problem, La Really I should have done it sooner, I didn't think to ask (I hadn't thought it would go on for so long! I thought maybe a few hours maximum, then it stretched onwards into days), I hope that your elecltricity will remain stable forever more

That's good to know. I was just poking around since I hadn't heard anything in a while and was worried. I'm glad to hear that she's okay. Hopefully they get power back soon but as long as she is safe, that is all that matters.
Though hopefully her power will have been restored by now and she will be able to greet you herself. It's been days, I can only be glad this happened in summer there rather than bitter winter, poor La. Hey , Skeksie . I was wondering , are you excited for the ''Dark Crystal'' tv show?

It´s a fair question considering the huge TDC nerd I am!
I actually have torn feelings about that incoming series XD
**I am hyper eager to watch it, and hope with all my heart that it´ll be amazing!!---but at the other hand, the recent official comics and novels (especially the comics!) have truly left admittedly resented and angry due to all the incongruences, blatant disregard of old canon, frankly misleading and wrong character portrayals, and some plot decissions they made (nearly all plot decissions, lol XD )
so...yes, I am super eager to see it, but I´m also worried that it might be terrible if it´s anything like those last comic stories I hope the series will be nothing like them, and if it were, may it at least have great visuals awe can still enjoy!
