Hey, I fell off the face of the earth again. Who's surprised? Graduation, depresson, a ton to worry about. It gets hard to get the motivation up to make these, sometimes. Still waffling on my setup, too.

Wanted to make another 16-color wallpaper here, but... the sky lost all detail, and it just looked gross. 4-color walls aren't bad either, though, at least! Had trouble picking out a palette for this one, though - perhaps I need to find a new palette to work with, or start rolling my own again.

This photo was taken at Wedgwood Country Club in New Jersey. I was there for a birthday party (specifically, my grandmother's friend's 90th) and I took this shot as we were headed back to the car after the party. It got me thinking "damn, I won't have any more views from the college" making this one... but I still find some interesting shots from time to time.

I've added a new resolution to the mix - 2880x1800 - and removed 720x480. It seems as if 720x480 is exceedingly rare and most 480(p/i) displays are just using 640x480. As much as I dislike the new Retina MacBook Pros, I figure it's worthwhile to support them. (If you're asking why, the 2880x1800 screen HAS to be hard on the GPU and provide problems running graphically-intensive things, and the lack of removable RAM is an INSTANT turn-off for me. The former's tolerable in my case, though...) As always, all resolutions are available at ([link]).

(Watch the more rabid Apple fans come after me for knocking the new MBP. Shrug.)

Im not really a fan of the macs, but that new mac book pro has some awesome specs. It makes gaming on a mac completely possible (gasp*). I do hope they make and external graphics card using the thunderbolt port.

This picture is weird. Its both easy and hard on the eyes. Did deviant art do something to the file? 120k file size for a 2880x 1800..wow

Gaming's pretty feasible on my early 2011 15" MBP, and it just gets better on the 2012 non-retina model. Apple would, in a perfect world, be shooting themselves in the foot to get rid of that completely... (okay, fine, you can kill the optical drive and give it the new MBP's ports, but for fuck's sake, don't kill user-serviceability. If I end up needing more RAM later when my needs may change, or my RAM happens to go bad, I want to fucking replace it, not have to take it in for a few weeks.) An external graphics card isn't impossible in the least, considering I'm pretty sure Thunderbolt is PCI-e based...

It was pretty hard on my eyes in a 16-color format... the sky looked atrocious and I didn't like it. 120kb is perfectly normal, though - DA didn't do anything dumb to the file. It's basically pixel-doubled 1440x900 in four colors, after all! For comparison, a 16-color version of the image would be 257kb - still a tiny file size for the image's size.

How is it hard on the eyes, though, out of curiosity? (Assuming you have an idea why - sometimes things don't resonate well and you have no idea why.)

I think it's the white in this picture clashing with the blue. When I stare at the blue my eyes are fine, but when I look at some of the white, like the power lines it makes me squint. Then I scroll down to the comment section and see the light green of deviantart my eyes explode. Maybe it's just my monitor.

Wait, white? I'm hoping you mean the lightest blue, or it sounds like something's really off with your screen... (and I've always thought of DA as more of a gray than green, eh...)

Try viewing it in fullscreen (or temporarily setting it as your wallpaper) - it might make things a bit easier to look at, if nothing else...

It is indeed my monitor. I just looked at this on my iPod touch and it looks fine.
