Hi Skaijo. I'm happy to read that you've found success in your scientific career. That's really awesome to hear. I'm kinda bummed that I'll never see how the Pick Up story ends. *insert crying emoji* It was such an awesome world you created, but I'll live. Haha. Hope all's been well with you. Take care.

(Edit: Happy Birthday!)

oh wow, finally got to see this elusive project of yours..ahaha..this so reminds me scarily of how my old unfinished animation starts off so impressive and then it start to become animatics to drafts, to sketch and ending at a pause of a crappily doodled scene. lol.

Wow! I was just reminiscing about your older work, and it just so happens I get to see some fresh stuff! This really brought me back to Don't Trip; I used to watch your projects like crazy, so it really made me well up some old nostalgia. I know it's incomplete, but the content that made it was really entertaining! You've really got a knack for this sort of paced work!

I understand life seems to have taken a hold of you so you can't get into animation, and I'm pretty much there myself, but just know that your videos have inspired a lot of my work over the years, and whenever I think back to my early days learning animation and scouring Newgrounds, your projects always remained special to me. So thank you!

It's cool to be the subject of your reminiscing.  It's a great honor, considering the plethora of 100% free porn on the internet!  When you really consider it, it's a pretty big deal.  My thanks to you!

Hahaha, that's sweet though, I think you know what I mean when I say there's like 1000 different ideas wanting to get out in my head that you just don't have time to do anymore because... you know, life.   But eh, fun times all the same!

Oh yes!  The only thing I have to worry about is how to keep my kitten entertained.  I feel like I'm being appreciated at work, and doing what I can to build a social life in the meanwhile.  Hahaha  from the ground up from the look of things.

Ooh you have a Kitten is it a bringer of chaos like most kittens lol. It sounds like you have it all locked down, glad to hear you feel appreciated at work that is very important! And ground up is the best way to build up a strong social life instead of people just flaking or just causing more trouble.

You better!  lol

I just didn't want the unfinished draft to remain unseen in one of my dusty back up drives.  I've retired from animating, but I still think as is it looked pretty damn ambitious! Take care!

It is a bummer you have retired from Animating. It's hard to imagine the internet without Flash animators these days without either
1. Cranking out crappy work (not this, more like whatever half-assed thing on Cartoon Network that is 11 minutes of fart jokes and screaming *cough*Teen Titans Go*cough*).  When somebody does it on their own, it is an accomplishment.  Collaborations occur. And you have something phenominal like Neil Cicierega's animutations or Homestar Runner.
2. Being under appreciated by an on demand world of online videos where YouTube pretty much dominates the market. (Nobody really says "Check out my site on Vimeo or Daily Motion, website.") Of which thanks to YouTube's new Ad Revenue system, anyone who does animation get's less of a share in revenue than some low brow crappy video that is produced every day.  Never mind that it takes about 9 months of production time to professionally develop an 11 minute cartoon for television.

Newgrounds continues to be the repository of the Golden Age of Flash.

It would be nice to finish this. To be the Magnum Opus of your time as an animator. Probably develop a plan to crowdsource funding, find some fellow Flash animation veterans.

I think what is really killing Flash isn't the security flaws in the software but the fact that Adobe had made just about all their software "Software-as-a-Service" meaning, you don't buy Photoshop, Illustrator, or whatever Flash is called anymore, you rent it, and it is not cheap.  Microsoft managed to get this model right since Microsoft Office is worth the $10/month because who can't live without Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.  The rest of the stuff I've been using lately has been open source. GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus.  Yet there still hasn't been a good replacement to Flash yet, even though it is quite possible you can do it in HTML5 now given all the cool stuff I've seen on sites like Codepen and Tumblr.

How things get animated has changed, but the demand for good content hasn't.

So what say you? One more time, for old time sakes?

So, I'm with you that NG is the golden age repository to flash.

NO WAY is Office worth 10 bucks a month.  Buy one copy and use it for the rest of your life or download libre office.  File types such as .docx are an ISO standard for crying out loud.

Yeah, the life of a hobbyist youtuber animator is a shitty one, if not terrifying.  Thankfully I got a PhD in Biochemistry that I'm putting to good use.  I loved animating but the real issue is the time to production ratio.  Spending a year to make something that's only 5 minutes isn't a solid patience investment anymore.  It was a fun mountain to climb, but I'm glad I walked away when I did.  The unmade stuff in my head will always want to come out, and I kind of like the feeling of my brain percolating with impatient ideas.  That requires it's own special type of patience. It's a weird thing to describe.

The fans and support have always been fantastic, and I really think I put my fingerprint on the wall of great amateurs.
