I redrew Cosmic by sk8erkiller900 I redrew Cosmic by sk8erkiller900
Wow, after two years, you still haven't bothered to get a sketch book?!

Anyways, a quick redraw of my first submission (is it called a deviation here? I feel like I should and probably do know this, and asking is quite stupid of me) here. I kind of wish I could say it was my character, but oh well.

you may want to consider shading or coloring in your artwork more often. it generally makes it look better and it gives a good opportunity to mess around with colors and tones, which can be pretty fun and gradually rewarding

Yeah, I shaded this, but I shaded it really lightly and that plus the fact that this picture quality isn't good (photography isn't exactly my thing), so you can hardly see it, making it look more bland than in person (though it still has a level of blandness in person I could probably fix.)

i'd advise darker tones / adding a larger variety of shades to make it look more interesting and also show up better on camera.

to take a good photo:
open your window (blinds) to let in light
do it at a light time of day - i usually do it in the early afternoon
make sure the drawing is in the light but that the darker colors don't reflect the light at the camera from that angle (i use a lot of dark lines, especially in my cartoons, so that can become a problem sometimes)

hope this helps
