When Nya first trains to become the water sumo, Kai was not exactly 100% on board with this idea; he felt that his only baby sister shouldn't put herself in danger even though he faces danger all the time.

Nya calls him out for being a hypocrite and being unsupportive of her decision. Few harsh words lash out but eventually after seeing Nya in action Kai realizes he was wrong and apologized. Kai learns exactly how strong and independent Nya is and promise to always fight by her side.
