Sumo No Mo' Pt12

Zane and Lloyd were the first and only people to visit Cole at the hospital; Although Cole honestly wasn't in the mood for company, a small part of him felt happy to see some familiar faces. Lloyd bought in a small chocolate cheese cake in hopes that it would cheer Cole up; however Cole didn't even bother to look at the cake, he didn’t even have the courage to look at his two friends in the eyes. Cole kept his head facing towards the open window. Lloyd placed the cake down on the table.

There was a few moment of awkward silence until Cole asked "How's Izzy...i-is she okay?" Zane then answered "She's still drifts in-and-out of consciousness but otherwise still in tack. The doctors are keeping a close eye on her." Cole shakes his head "hmm...good". Lloyd then speaks hoping to give Cole some sort of comfort "We had a feeling that you'd be at that warehouse last night; it was still brave of you to want to protect Izzy even in you umm...current state." Zane quickly turned to Lloyd giving him a look of nervousness, maybe it was not wise to mention that night. Lloyd scratching his head even more nervous. Cole only responded with "Brave huh... sure."

Cole pulled the covers closer to him "Thanks for visiting guys but I think I'll turn in. Oh and if the others ask, tell them I'm sleeping...I-I'm not ready to face them yet. With sad looks on their faces the two friends complied with Cole's requests. "We understand Cole..." said Lloyd "Take care of yourself". Cole had his back turned when Zane and Lloyd finally left the room.

Cole felt a greater pain in the pit of his stomach, and it was not from that hard punch that thug gave him. Cole felt utter shame and embarrassment; his new body that was supposed to give Cole new confidence and a higher self-esteem proved to be the exact opposite. Not only did Cole lost his massive sumo girth, his title, and his powers, he nearly lost the love of his life. Hot tears streamed down from Cole's bruised face, he felt like he had no one else to turn to for closure.

Once Cole finally was released from the hospital he waited at the bus stop; Cole couldn’t bring himself to show his face to the other sumo team after he pretty much abandoned them and after his humiliating beat down at the warehouse. Cole knew the one place he could always go back to where someone close to him would be happy to see Cole especially in his new slime figure.
