Entry for #SixWordStories`s Word Prompt: Call Me

Stock photo courtesy of: [link]

Slenderman "photo" from the TVTropes entry for the mythos, taken from the original Something Awful thread: [link]

My first attempt at photo blending and manipulation. Sorry if it isn`t any good. All done with fotoflexer online.

Look closely! There`s a Slenderman creepin` about in there.

"One of the most common beliefs about the Slender Man is that we essentially thought him into existence. In “The Tutorial,” M refers to this as the “Philip Phenomenon.” This is the “tulpa” part of “Golom Tulpa Anima’s” namesake theory. And on TV Tropes, the whole trope “Clap Your Hands If You Believe” deals with this. The theory is that, if enough people believe in something enough, it becomes real. And if even more people believe in it, it becomes stronger. The theory goes, essentially, that we believed the Slender Man into existence. There is also a related theory: that thinking of him calls him to you. He only exists for you when you think about him."

Mogadishu wrote, “The tulpa is manifest. All it takes is that split second of fear when the tree outside your window casts a shadow just right, and He knows.”

This could be good news,if you can get enough people to believe in a good being whose stronger than him or change the legends so he'd be more benevolent (which has been done to many fairy tail creatures),then there's hope yet

Ooooh that's fascinating :la: I'll have to check it out.

"Thoughtforms aren't always safe." I guess Victor Surge didn't consider how popular his creation would get... and how very unsafe it would soon be.

Victor Surge?
I'll check it out.
But we have found evidence of Tulpas being in Tibet long ago.

And no, they are NOT always safe. This is why we founded a project, to protect and help other Tulpa hosts.

And we are more really like a caring group of friends.

[link] This is the original SomethingAwful thread where Slender Man was "born".

A good blog explaining it: [link] Currently on hiatus, though.

Really? Tibet? What evidence is there? All I know about Tibet is that monks live(d) there.

I'm not a founder by any means, but I'm sure I'm helping keep him alive by thinking about him... and by introducing others to the Mythos ^^; No one I know is haunted, though.

 It's fake. If the Slender Man were real, and I had taken an actual photo of him, I would not take it nearly as lightly as I do now.

I am glad that it was good enough to make you worry though! Not bad for my first ever photomanip.

 Sorry for the slight misunderstanding there.

The Slender Man is definitely one of the best monsters out there. I have more slender-related whatnots in my gallery if you care to look~ All traditional art, though.

/shameless self-promotion

I do like how poetic this feels from the structure and the simplicity of it all, and yet... it's still quite profound, I find.

The text is a bit too small, and I'm not sure if the colour works.. I do like the black on white/grey, but the "to you" part could be lighter, if you get where I'm coming from?

It feels a bit odd if you compare the size of what surrounds the words to the words themselves.. I'd suggest a bigger size, but eh.

Lovely stuff, regardless.

Thank you :).

Honestly, I agree. I was using that particular picture editing site for the first time and... eh ^^; well you see the result. It got all zoomed in and I didn`t realize until I had saved it and realized the words were really, really small.
