Jin Shei- Tai and Antian

Pencils, gel pens and ink on A3 paper.

This is Tai and Antian meeting in the garden of the Summer Palace, from Alma Alexander's fantastic novel "The Secrets of Jin Shei."

I've taken some liberties with the drawing- for example, the temple is not apparent in the book, but it's a major them throughout the novel so I thought it best to include it.

The girls are also standing on a section of ruined paving- again, this isn't in the book (I doubt that they would allow such a thing in the Summer Palace!) but I wanted to hint at what was going to happen.

Their costume is also... utterly unlikely. But I thought that the book strayed so far into the realm of fantasy that such a thing would be okay.
