The Swamp Witch Page 6 by SiverCat The Swamp Witch Page 6 by SiverCat
Mathias may be the hero. He's strong, he's an excellent fighter, he charms all the ladies. However, every hero needs a friend, a companion, someone who can watch his back. Unfortunately for Mathias, he's not much good at listening or paying attention.

This one, again, gave me some trouble layout wise and I'm still not sure if I'm happy or not. Comments/suggestions are welcome!

Edit: Neither :icontanashai: nor mysef felt that page 6 and 7 flowed together properly, so at her suggestion, I've made the addition of the last panel and fixed page 7's dialogue to suit.

Indeed! I think you managed the page well. It goes from one panel to the panel smoothly until the single page cliff hangar of the vines wrapping themselves around our monolog spouting hero! Plus we get a brand new danger introduced. Time to turn the page and find out more!!

I notice your page is at 1122 X1558 (A3 size) resolution. Was that conscious? It happens to the same size paper illustrators use when they are making their creations. Easier to work on big paper and then shrink it down to standard comic book size?

Thanks to Tanashai. Originally the last panel on page 6 was Mathias' boots all bound up, then you see the witch on page 7 with the current page 6's dialogue, so it was "Run me through? That's not nice. Not nice at all..." all on page 7, but it too...abrupt I guess? Neither of us were happy with it, didn't feel it flowed properly, but of course Charlene was the one to provide the answer :D.

Even working pure digitally, I prefer working on larger "paper". For something like this anyway. I based my initial size decision on what you did though. I liked the size you used and so tried for myself and liked it.

I think you managed it perfectly Gwen. I noticed the green around his legs in the first panel so you managed to call attention to it without over doing! Nice work! :D

Thank you! This page was getting frustrating. I kept trying different layouts and they weren't working, so I'm glad to hear it looks right :D.
