The Swamp Witch Page 3 by SiverCat The Swamp Witch Page 3 by SiverCat
Poor Rhett. A common refrain. But what is it that Mathias spotted...?

Still trying stuff I haven't really done before, sound effect, overlapping panel.

Comments always appreciated :D

Ha Ha! Rhett is the typical hero! So full of himself that he can't see the swamp witch for the trees! Or the muck! Just a fun page! Especially nice pose of Rhett knocking into Matthias! I don't know how to rig or even pose those figures in wings but I think it must've taken some time.

it's okay to have dialogue boxes overlap the panels. Even the panels that overlap the panels. Though in this case it was simply being caught in mid-sentence anyw---

Keep experimenting. You'll have fun making new ways to tell a story. Cascade them. Think of Patterns. Use a panel that doesn't even have a character in it. Don't go away now! I want to see how this goes.

Now for something that doesn't matter but is always fun to guess.

How many pages do you think it will take before it's done? I always underguess and CM can guess my output better than I can.

Thanks! Seeing your comics makes me want to work on my own! Lots of fun here.

Well! I'm just going to answer the original comment if nothing else to ease me lol.

I wish I knew how to rig ^^; I'm posing them by hand, moving vertices...Reeeaaally need to get onto rigging...It took some figuring getting Mathias knocking into Rhett like that and several attempts as it didn't look "shovy" (to use Charlene's phrasing) enough at first. And, attempting the pose myself against a wall much to Charlene's amusement. I must look very odd while I work sometimes lol. If you ever wondered about my creative process you may have just learned more than you wished to know =P

Experimenting is fun and rewarding. I want to keep trying!

How many pages....between 21 and 25 perhaps? I'm really not sure...I'll be curious to find out myself!

Hmmm...Comic work makes Robin want to do more....I LIKE it! And seeing your comics inspires me in turn. Your gallery has been a subject for study the last few days. ;)

I totally salute your resolve. Not settling until the pose looks like what you want. I don't know if you can use deformers to get a bend but as it is, it worked and well when Mathias shoved into Rhett to end up in that bog! I have wondered how about your creative process and it fun to see that it's both different and the same. You've already seen that some poses are used over again and that becomes your style (and mine too).

Oh god, my gallery a subject for study! Now I'll totally be wondering if you're studying something I've done wrong.

By the way, I dug the change of perspective in the final panel! Nice work, Gwen!

I could use something like deformers (if I know my terminology) if I knew how ^^;. I do wish I had a program more suited to layout on hand though and something that makes layers easier to work with. Using Paint Shop Pro 6...has the ability to have lots of layers yet only shows 9 in the list. Need to check if there's a way to change that...Another small piece of the process ;)

It's nice when I can reuse a pose, speeds that panel up considerably.

Hah! I don't know enough to know if something was "wrong". As is, everything's working and looking good, so I'd say there's a lot of right. Though of course there's always tweaks wanting to be made I'm sure.

Thank you! To be honest I'm still not entirely pleased with the final. The perspective is good, but my splash (the image not the word) still needs some work. I'm just not sure how to go about making it more...splashy.
