Sam and Max by SiverCat Sam and Max by SiverCat
And now I have completed my new model of Max. My original was bad and will never be shown here, though some fun was had with it. Still, here is Sam and Max together as they should be.

Max was easier to do than Sam, but was still a challenge. The image not including Sam took somewhere between 6-7 hours for the creation of Max, posing and lighting. I was having fun playing with the different light sources, though the results here don't show that. Add in the time to create Sam, however, then that time for this image can be at least doubled.

I don't have any particular plans for them, but I wanted to make them for fun and it was good practice and probably my best work...not probably, IS in terms of actual models.

Max's hands still need some work and I may redo them at some point. Hands! I dislike them.

Created in Blender 2.49b
Sam and Max (c) TellTale Games, Steve Purcell

That is amazing. It's like sculpting! I see thing in circles and cylinders and then curve and move things. How do you see things when you sculpt in a cyberscape? What is the primitive that you use at the very start?

Plus not only do you have to sculpt but you also have to texture as well. Texturing is pure art. Adding color and depth to a surface. That is why I think what you do is amazing.

More Questions : Blender must export the image. What does type of image does it export? PNG? TIF? JPG? Do you use GIMP or Photoshop or anything else to enhance your images?

I'm sorry I let my bad news and attitude miss your stuff. Forgiveness please!

I see things as shapes. And how do I manipulate those shapes. Sam started with a circles technically, but it was reduced to a single vertice. Max started with a cube if I remember correctly, though his head is a sphere.

There wasn't a ton of texturing going here, mostly just colour. Not great with actual material like textures yet.

I rendered this one as a png. But you can also render as jpgs and tiffs I'm pretty sure. I always just do png or jpg. I have both GIMP and Photoshop, but I seldom do any editing with them. Probably change in time, if nothing else either'll get involvement for texture making.

Of course you have my forgiveness!

I'm digging it now. You start off with primitives and than modify the primitive as a single color which eliminates the needs for texturing the model as a whole.

The only reason I asked is my issue with the output format which seem a bit dark sometimes. An image editor <gimp PS> could lighten up the entire work.

Whatcha workin on next?

Sometimes an image is maybe a bit dark, but they often look fine on my monitor. But I'll look at something at school and it'll be quite a lot darker...Although for Sam and Max I could have even forgotten to kick up the light energy. I kept playing with lights with that one...Dunno.

There are certainly some times where I could probably benefit from some post editing...or see about getting other rendering systems as well...

I wish I could say. I don't have any personal projects lined up :(. Too busy.

Oh for all I know it could be cause my monitor and video card aren't as good as the one on my laptop which went belly up. I just look forward to more stuff from you.

I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

I'm off to have some ice coffee and a donut!

Very nice! ^^ Cute modeling!

Yeah, I know how that is. I'm modeling just for practice right now and have no plans for most of my 3d models.

It's okay ^^ It was probably in a stack and you clicked the x or maybe DA glitched up again, because sometimes I don't get messages due to glitches. :) Thanks for looking! ^^
