April by SiverCat April by SiverCat
Again, for a 2011 calendar if I can get it all done in time. I decided to go for an Easter image for April (once I found out when it was...)
The head of the toy bunny was kind of a pain, and I'm a bit glad to have this image done.

Easter in April next year, this works out well hunting for Easter eggs outside with blue skies and spring coming. Be that a candy bunny she holds? Modeling complex stuff like that can be rather time consuming and a pain. The bunny ears on the other girl are cute. The grass looks nice and it looks like you managed to get the particles for it to go around the girl as though she matted them down. Did you use particles for the clouds as well?

I'm glad Easter is in April. I didn't have any other ideas for the month! lol.

It could be a candy bunny, but I meant it to be a stuffed toy bunny, but hey, whatever you prefer :D.

The particle system in Blender has some really useful features that make it easier to do stuff like flattening the grass. I didn't use particles for the clouds. They're actually drawn in with Gimp again. I don't know how to make them with particles or any method really in Blender...not yet anyway.

Thank you for all your comments!!

Lucked out then. Only other thing I can think of would be... rain, although that could apply to May as well.

lol, I suppose it does look more stuffed, otherwise that'd be a pretty thick choco bunny. :P

Some sort of space deformations or particle barriers or even a special particle type or option I'm guessing. In 3ds max you can make invisible walls, which I think they called space deformations, that the particles can react to. No doubt some way to make clouds, just have to learn how.

You're welcome =D

Well, for the grass, I used hair particles. Blender now has options such as comb and scissors that let you basically treat particle strands as hair. For the other, uh, categories of particles I guess you could call them, I don't really know. There probably is something like space deformations. Darn, there still just so much I don't know.

Ahh, hair particles, never thought of using those to create grass. Nice thinking there. I've actual never gotten to using those before.

I'd like to say thanks, but I got the idea from a tutorial for the first grass I ever did, so I can't take credit for the idea.^^; Thanks though! lol.

Ahh, still great use for the hair particles and going and getting it done yourself, even if you had a tutorial for help. You're welcome!

It's Springtime!! Awww! This brings back memories. Being the youngest in my family and considering how ruthless my brother and sister were, I was lucky to have found any eggs at all.

Of all the things to catch my eye, the grass is truly something!

I always lost to Tanashai on egg hunts lol.

Yay particles! Even though I only have a partial understanding of them...but I can do grass.

Thank you!!
