Hi James,
a really nice beginning. But as I see you're not very patient in rendering until the grainy noise is gone in the darker regions.
I set my (iRay) render quality to 99.9% convergement and a factor of 2 or 4. So I can decide when its really good enough.

I know: render times! So it needs a powerful processor.

Yeah I get a little tired of waiting. Sometimes render times can be ridiculous. I’ve rendered for 24hrs and it’s still been grainy. I’ll try your settings. Thanks for the feedback.
I might go out and get a better computer. Any advice on what I should get to reduce render times?

I recently got my little "monster".
For "small" sets you can try the nVidia GTX /RTX cards with 8 to 12 GB GPU RAM.
If your scene needs more memory, you have to render with the CPU. So it should be a quick one. 12 to 16 cores at least.
Due to the costs I created a "small" setup with Asus GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 1920X.

For my needs its good enough. 2-3 hours for my latest renders (3000 x 3000 pix).
