The City of Poh by SirInkman The City of Poh by SirInkman
Black and white done in PS

This is the city of Poh, in northern Nehue region, deep in the Pavahanue river valley of the lands of Nahadua.
The city sits on an ancient raised plateau. One cannot truly call that plateau man-made as it was not made by man, though it is artificial.
The city itself is ancient but rests on the bones of an even more ancient site from mythic antiquity.
It is believed to have been one of the only known establishments of an above ground manifestation of Nekral civilization.
The large stone work and massive megaliths point to some powerful culture of vast strength and age.
Aside from the plateau, there are remnants of other stone works scattered throughout the city and on its edges.

The city's origins, where man is concerned, started with the site of the Iyipoh monastery which was much smaller in antiquity.
Just a few scattered dwellings and a small orchard. The city grew over many centuries as it became a place of pilgrimage.
Over time the style of river farming grew up and greatly increased the city's ability to sustain a larger population.
The fields utilize a method of sluice gates to control flooding of the inner fields, which then also maintain populations of fish and other water life in the fields, which contributes to an even more fertile growing capacity. The structures are all of stone and a very gummy river mud that dries hard to an almost stone like quality.
Roofs are thatched with a unique type of brush that grows in the area and has the odd quality of being non-flammable.
Some attribute this rare plant to the proposed influence of the Nekral civilization believed to have existed here long ago.

A small harbor serves the limited trade purposes and also for those arriving on pilgrimage to the city.
The large structure of the Ranhanamah holds the cities relics and serves as the seat of its communal leadership.
It has also served as protection from enemies in the past, though with the city's increase it can no longer contain all the inhabitants.

I decided to do a black and white for this one. I used to do a lot of black and white maps, but didn't actually have any in my portfolio.
There will be more in this style. I have some commissions utilizing it as well as some other personal maps using it too.

It's interesting the way the farms are spaced as long strips
The buildings are spaced relatively close to each other for better
protection but they still have a decent strip of land to farm

Your welcome.

I am living Deviantart for good.

I can't stay.

I will remember your art that inspire me.

Thank you.

Watch out for Lighterium he is a unreasonable person.

He will try everything or confect anyone to just block one person.

The pacapillars are cute but the people not so nice at all.

The price for pacapillars are $200 to also $500 or more.

Just for a base or one already made.

Be careful.

Lighterium is also easy dropper.

Hey SK :) I don't recall exactly, but I feel like it was done over the span of a week.
So evenings after the day's work was done, i'd work on this one. Maybe 20-26 hours.

Just so you know, inflammable means the same thing as flammable...

Haha, I am a bit masochistic. :D
It was originally just going to be a medium sized town. But, well, it grew a bit. :)
The planning wasn't so bad really, but the execution of it took longer than it should have.
All told, I spent around a week on this, off and on. Maybe half a day or so on the planning and rough layout.

The funny thing is, I was originally going to try to do a small town... and it didn't work. La la la la
It just kept getting bigger. And of course taking longer. I think I've fainted.

Not always easy to get the balance right.

I try to have a story with each location, especially as it helps to really develop them in a more true fashion.
It's easier to stay true to a location if you know more about it. ;)
