Not a final idea for Morgoth, nor for the Silmarils.

This is really awesome. He definitively looks otherworldy here, so above the children of Iluvatar ^^
He looks so ruthless, and dangerous and powerful. So dark and magical. Totally fitting to The Silmarillion's depiction of Morgoth ^^
The sketchiness gives a sensation that we can't grasp him, he eludes anyone

Thank you so much for sharing your impression :thanks: I didn't think of the sketchiness this way before, there is something in it.

A beautiful interpretation of Morgoth, full of dark magisty but with hint of sadness :)

actually when you read the book, morgoth's crown seems to appear as dark, ugly and iron. You gave it a marvellous look, a reminiscence of a long forgotten beauty; actually the beauty of the days of light in Aman.
Short: It's fricking awesome, love it!

Thank you :thanks: It's more capture of his personality than actual physical form, thus your idea of the days of light reminiscence fits well. I wish I have thought of it myself! Still I would see him quite alike, though in a more practical armor and yes - the crown would have to be heavier and rougher. An iron toxic waste with imprisoned light in it.

even so...I think this is the morgoth i'd fear the most. Because the tainted light still remains in his never-darkened eyes. Just gives me the feeling I'm watching a god...
Although I'd love to see your version of the "other" morgoth you described :)

Not yet. I mean I've got more ideas for his evil form and the other described, this is just one of possibilities. And more expression of his personality than physical body, but could be both.

I love the darkness- but this looks like it's before the Silmarilli, since I imagine those silly stones being so bright. Does Morgoth's darkness take the light away? Oooh... :D

Indeed they're a bit dim here, mainly because I didn't want to cover him in light too much. I'll rethink it when I give Melkor another try.
But on the other hand they're the only light source here, for such they're pretty bright :) (Though as I said could be brighter, but then we would not see his face.) He himself favors darkness, fumes world with dark poisonous clouds and hides far away from light. Maybe the Silamrili simply can't stand such foul neighbor and dim their light in protest ;)

They are the same size as on a "random" Noldo head I painted first (then resized the silhouette but left Silamrils untouched), A default Noldo would be around 2m tall, while Morgoth here 6m. There is no detailed info on Morgoth's height, but assuming Noldor were usually about 2 m tall and balrog supposed to have double height of a Noldo (according to BoLT) I gave Morgoth 6M. He could be much taller as well, but then Silmarils would be way too small. I don't think they should be bigger if Fëanor used to wear them in a circlet over his forehead. But they would give more light than I did here. Maybe they didn't like to shine on Morgoth ;)

Indeed interesting! If he was not the fallen Vala and the foulest spirit on Arda your fractal could be his spiritual manifestation. But it's too nice for Melkor. Well done!
