Recently, an SSMU doller posted tempates of some old jewelry for Verdy-K
's front base without realizing that the original artists, StargazerSammie
, do not wish to have their old works be used as templates for others to use. The doller repsected their request to take down the templates, and has done just that. It was an honest mistake, so I don't hold her in contempt and neither should you. However, I do need to make something clear since this ongoing issue has brought great frustration to two talented artists who retired from the SSMU community a long time ago due to theft and other related drama:
I was given permission by both artists to use some of their old hair and jewelry templates that have been in my computer for quite some time, so I am allowed to use them for my own dolls, as was stated by both girls in their Journals and Status Updates. However, I CANNOT
re-post those pieces as templates for you to use, so please DO NOT
ask me to upload them on my page. So any pieces that I have used by either artist (as shown in the credits description on every doll I've done) are meant only
for my own
works. Using any old templates you have saved for personal use is allowed (as long as you have their permission), but you MAY NOT
ask me for the original files or a modified version I have done. And you MAY NOT
rip those pieces off of my dolls for ANYTHING
and for ANY REASON
without permission from me or the original artists. I don't want to have to resort to using watermarks to protect my dolls the way they had to.
Any templates I have created myself are free for use and can be found in the Templates folder in my SSMU folder (I have yet to upload some long overdue ones in organized files), but PLEASE
give credit to me AND
the artists whose pieces helped me with my own creations.
I have admired the SSMU dolls of StargazerSammie
long before I became a doller myself, and like many others, was very sad to see them go. But they had their rights and reasons for deleting their dolls and templates, and I do not wish for them to be further hassled by something they have tried to move on from for years.
And to StargazerSammie
: I will keep all the dolls I have already uploaded with their pieces up, since they were made before this issue arose again, and I would like to continue using them if possible, but if you wish for me to not use the templates for any future dolls, just say so. I wish you both the very best, and thank you very much for all the advice and help you've given me for my own dolls.
