Hee... that would've been a fun bit of detective logic, but Nancy doesn't actually think this. In fact, the book takes pains to establish that she still doesn't know who her captor is at this point...

Incidentally, the book doesn’t actually describe Nancy’s captor tying her ankles. But it does mention her rubbing feeling back into them later, and her ensuing struggles don’t really make sense if her feet are free. Two versions of this scene.
