Clavicula Memoriae reshoot

Description

In the spirit of experimentation, I've gone back to reshooting a few of my older works. One thing I have to say for sure is that I still have a long, long, long way to go when it comes to photography. But I like to think that I've improved a bit.

The original of this piece is here: Clavicula Memoriam (You might have noticed that I upgraded the Latin, too. ;)
Onet hing I realized is that this is a long piece (and a large one) so it's very difficult to get all the details in the main design right. Therefore, I've decided to go with a collage/inset look for this one to capture a better representation of the design element. It also means you can finally see why the key is based on a classic "memento mori" design. Every time you look at the skull, you will see yourself reflected behind it - it is an indication that we will all die at some point in time. And Death's grin will come and greet us all.

Artist's Note
1. Cobbled together from: A recycled rosary, plastic beads, metal findings, key-shaped pendant, mirror, plastic jewels. Harvested from various stores around the city where I used to live in. 5" (length) by 2.5" (widest); 12" necklace.
2. Time taken: Cobbled together in 3 days.
3. Taken with a cellphone camera under natural light. The metadata is on the side. Photoshop is used for watermark and collage compilation.
4. Musical inspiration? Sure: Neverending White Lights, "The world is darker" www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_I-Jy…

Once again, let me know, won't you? :)

Oooooh... I do like this look, you are able to see the detail in the centerpiece without overloading the viewer with a million pictures.
