I'm back!!

Well, I'm going to try and be back and post more on DA again. I admit, I'm not as active on the cosplay scene as I once was but I have not quit cosplay. In fact, I have planned shoots and new costumes being worked on right now.

For now you will see me post up things that you might have seen if you follow me on WorldCosplay or my blog. I've done a lot of changing on the web over the past few years and now I focus mostly on cosplay and blogging.

Hope you like my new stuff. ♥

Hey guys!

Just wanted to let you know, I'm not completely gone from DA but I will be posting more of my cosplay on WorldCosplay instead.

You can find me at… (yeah still has the old cosplay group name but it is just me now)

You can also find me posting things on my facebook page, that is where I will post most of my updates and stuff -
You will see me post my cosplay videos there or just go straight to my youtube page

I also have my own website but that place is pretty much as active here, heh. Hope to see you at the other social media sites. :)

P.S. I also post things that aren't as 'planned' on my instagram

Yuki Kuran Uniform Cosplay

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 28, 2016, 5:55 PM

Guys! It is finally happening! Tomorrow morning I'm going to get all dolled up and go out to take pictures of my Yuki cosplay in the black uniform with artemis, which - by the way - is now making my hands feel like they might bleed.  I have never dealt with such a troublesome prop. I think the humidity is making it swell so it took all my - very pathetic - strength to get it to attach to each other. I just hope I can take it back apart later. orz I might figure out a way to get it in the car without doing that though... The thing is pretty big - taller than me and I'm 5'8!

Can you guys believe two cosplays so close together! The hardest part was getting my sister to find the time to take the pictures. I do understand though, she has a lot of on plate and a lot of bad joint issues that she is cursed with thanks to her being double jointed.

Anyway, I really hope these turn out alright. This will probably be the last time I ever cosplay Yuki. I'm just not feeling like I pull her off too well. Haha.

As for any other cosplays after this, I have no idea. It's not likely anytime soon, but I'm going to do my best. If only I could get it done in time.

BTW, I started my Akane Aikawa cosplay from Magic Users Club (Mahou Tsukai Tai). I'm so nervous but I really hope I can get it done before our convention in September. We shall see, I'm such a terrible sewer. orz

Quiting as Co-Founder and Contributor

Journal Entry: Sat May 28, 2016, 7:38 AM

I have decided to quit with helping out as a Co-Founder and Contributor. It is mostly because all the groups I was a part of the admin had gone MIA and as for being a contributor, there wasn't much for me to do as one so I felt it was just unnecessary.  It was getting on my nerves to keep seeing stuff in my inbox that I couldn't even approve. So yeah, I'm out! lol

In other news, I'm working on my own Misato from Evangelion cosplay. My sister did that costume but she no longer cosplays so I figured that would be a character I would like to do. I also have most of my outfit down to be Alexandria Garcia from Kuroko no Basket. I hope to get some of these shots done this summer before my help leaves out of town forever. *sob*

My health has been much kinder to me lately - either that or I just don't care anymore. LOL Anyway, I'm feeling more energy than I did before at least. So yeah, I'm still here and I still plan to cosplay it is just not going to be as active as I was back when I was in a cosplay group.

Finally getting better!

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 30, 2016, 2:33 PM

I thought it was about time for a new journal entry. My last one was a bit depressing. :)

First things first, I'm healing nicely! My health is really looking up again. Blood work is all good, tests results were all negative, and my energy is starting to come back. This is great news because now I can really work on doing more cosplay and videos. I have actually updated my "youtube channel with some new videos about makeup and snack boxes. I will be bringing some short cosplay videos in the near future.

I'm trying to be more active on the web again. My blog is finally getting more updates as well.

You might have noticed a few updated pictures here and there. I have been going through some of my old stuff and seeing what looks decent enough to post. If the weather stays good maybe I can get my photographer to help take pictures of my Yuuki Uniform cosplay. If she is not too busy that is. I need to find more cosplay buddies because soon she will be moving out of town! Wah!

Rough time but hopes for Happy New Year.

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 28, 2015, 1:58 PM

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Mine was not good. I was in the hospital. :cries:

I got to leave the hospital on Saturday and I'm doing much better right now, though still pretty weak. I will be posting a more detailed entry on my blog but this is the basics of what happened.

I was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday last week for severe pain in the upper part of my stomach.  For the last few weeks I had been having a lot of stomach pain, enough to not want to eat. Doctor had planned to do a test on me for Thursday but I didn't make it that long so I was admitted to get my pain under control and have the test done sooner.

My gallbladder was bad, my surgeon - who did my surgery last time- decided I needed to get my gallbladder out and he was hopeful they could do it laparoscopically but there was a slight chance he would have to open me up because of my last surgery.

I had Surgery on Thursday and was told that after 6 hours they could release me so I could go home for Christmas.

However, when I woke up I was very ill. I threw up at least 8 or 9 times. Still, I was determined to go home and doctors had already prepared my release papers. So I told myself if I can sit up without puking I would go home. I did so we packed up to go home. I almost made it to the front door of the hospital (in a wheelchair of course) when I had a seizure.

:-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O

I've never had a seizure before. I scared the crap out of the poor aide who was wheeling me to the door. E.R. came around with a bed and they drained me of blood testing me every which way they could. Got a CT done of my head as well. It was clear so I had a non-epileptic seizure.

I was forced to stay in hospital another day (Christmas) to be sure I wouldn't have another one. However the super strong anti-biotic the E.R. doctor put me on stopped all the suffering, including my vomiting. Whatever was wrong the anti-biotics helped me. So weird....

I got to go home first thing on Saturday and I couldn't be more happy. I got to eat delicious food at my grandparents (all gluten free I really love how supportive my family is being of that), sister helped me bath and feel better, got to watch everyone open the presents I got them. It was a much nicer day.

All I can say about all this is that I hope I'm never admitted to the hospital again for surgery (I know I have to be for tests soon). I don't think I can handle going under the knife one more time. My poor tummy looks like a road map. ):

Please let the year 2016 be much better than 2015, and 2014!!! PUHLEASE!!!

Small Update

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 12, 2015, 6:51 AM

This is way over due but I noticed I have over 250 watchers now. Thanks a bunch to everyone who added me to their watch list. ♥

Not much going on here, good news is that I haven't been thrown back into the hospital in the past few months. That is a step up on my health. Bad news is I'm progressing with new symptoms that they can't pin point the cause yet. This is making cosplay almost non-existent for me right now. I'm optimistic though because I know some of the pain is because of some of my low levels so - hopefully - when they get adjusted I will be hurting less and can get back on that cosplay horse. haha Also, I'm allergic to wheat - did the test three times to be sure. Biggest bummer ever. I love things with wheat in it! *cries*

Yuuki Kuran cosplay is done and ready for a photo shoot, I even have Artemis. Once I've got more energy I will get that planned and try to find a photographer. My sister has been so busy this year with her teacher duties so she hardly has time in between making lesson plans. Bah! I miss the old days when I was healthier and no one had a job - haha!

Christmas time is coming up. I already want to decorate but I'm trying to wait until after Thanksgiving. STAHP MEH! lol

Mini Con

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 16, 2015, 6:26 PM

Okay, I tried to make this journal entry twice now. Third times a charm! First time was my own fault, I closed it out before I hit save, the second time DA logged me off - wut?! orz

Anyway! My town held a mini-con this weekend. It was pretty amazing that something like this happened here since I live in a retirement town.

This con was more for people who like Table Top games but they did hold a little cosplay contest. I decided to just go for it since it would give me an excuse to get into one of my cosplays. I never join contests but it was fun. I met a lot of awesome people and saw some cool cosplay.

You can see more about it at my website and if you want to see the bigger pictures (if you are in the pictures and want the large copies) then head to my flicker page.

If you like to re-post these, please give credit - either to my website or my DA page. Thanks!

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 5, 2015, 1:32 PM is now open! I was hoping to have some new cosplay pictures ready for the opening but time has not been on my side. I got tired of having it set to coming soon so I just decided to open it up. Let me know what you think. I hope to get more content on it slowly but surely.

Also, I joined something called Cosplay Amino. It is a phone app for cosplayers. You can find me by looking up 'singingaway' on the users. If you follow me, I will be sure to follow you back. Come join! I look forward to playing on this app and friending people.

In other news, it has been too hot to do any cosplay. I'm starting to really dislike summer. DX 102+ weather is not going to cut it - especially for the cosplay I have... Izaya, Orihime, and so on so forth. Haha

Wow, what a short and uninteresting post. orz

Still Here

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 26, 2015, 12:03 PM

So, I'm still here, still planning to do a new cosplay and re-do some old ones. In between my job, my health, and finding time with my sister and friend - it's been a real challenge this year. However, I've been making great strides in changing all of this, starting with my diet.

Diet sounds like such a dirty word though. I'm not doing this to lose weight, but to feel better. If you have stomach problems then you are probably aware of the low-FODMAP diet. That is what I'm challenging myself with. For the most part I'm doing good, but every now and then I slip up, which then ends up with me having pain or throwing up. It's not easy eliminating all these foods and slowly bringing them back in to see what I can handle in small amounts. Plus, I want to be smart about this and make sure i'm still getting all the proper nutrition from my foods. I'm quiet happy with my results so far.

My favorite new thing to eat is onigirazu - a great substitute for the simple sandwich. XD

Anyway, the Yuuki and Izaya  cosplay probably won't be started until it gets cooler again, but I plan to do C.C. and  whatever other costume I think I can handle in this scorching heat. LOL

To end this journal, I just want to say how happy I am for all the same sex couples that they will now be able to get married in any state.

Battle Scar

Journal Entry: Mon May 25, 2015, 8:47 PM

For the longest time I didn't want to post this because I was sort of embarrassed by it. I shouldn't be though. It is the proof that I survived. My very own battle scar. Even though I'm still getting sick, this surgery saved my life. Any longer like that and my colon could have busted and I would have gone septic. It's all so surreal to me that this happened, even with the evidence on my stomach. I had amazing doctors, my obgyn doctor for scaring me enough to get me to go to my PCP, my PCP doctor that threw me into the hospital right away even when other doctors kept ignoring my pain, and my surgeon who took good care of me.

The scar is even more healed than that now, though I plan to see a dermatologist about the little bumps it is making. Mostly because it itches. DX I get the feeling they will put some shot into the scar (like steroids) and it will hurt. 0_0

My medication list just seems to grow and grow but I have decided to start doing the Low-FODMAP diet. I was diagnosed with IBS when I was very young. This diagnosis kept doctors from taking me seriously. While IBS is a horrible chronic illness to have, most doctors don't pay much attention to it because they believe it doesn't cause any serious problems, not like an IBD would. Problem with that logic is that not much is know about IBS and why people suffer with it. So a huge group of people with stomach problems get thrown into this diagnosis and then ignored. My doctor now will not label me with IBS. This is because of my colon issue that looked like intussusception, if IBS is not suppose to cause more serious problems then why did that happen to me?

So that is the next thing to try and figure out. Why does my stomach not work right? My PCP doctor is really trying hard to help me out and is not giving up on me. I'm so glad I finally found a doctor who takes my stomach pain serious.

One more thing before I go, my sister will be finished with her job for a few months so hopefully some new cosplay pictures will be posted here soon.

Continuing On...

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 13, 2015, 5:11 PM

I'm suffering a lot lately. I was admitted into the hospital - again! That is three times in less than a year! ARG! Still no real progress on what is wrong with me but at least they have ruled out a partial blockage of my small intestine (it was bad when I had that almost a year ago) and any sort of IBD. Still! What is wrong with me?! I'm so tired of it. The only weird thing that came up was in my blood work.... sigh. orz

Anyway, working on my new cosplay website. As you all know - from my last journal entry - is being retired and I'm opening my own cosplay website. It took me a long time to find a template I could even like - without just making it from scratch (which I will do in the future) - so it took awhile for me to get as far as I have. I can now show you a little preview.

I hope to open it fairly soon. If I don't, I will blame it on my dang health! RAWR Also, that is why nothing new has been posted in a while either. I want to cosplay. *cries*

Big changes! First off, like the title says - Kills With Cake cosplay group is going away. This is for personal reasons that got way out of hand. No, we did not fight, we are still the best of friends.

However, this does not mean that cosplay will stop here. It just means it is now a site just for me. I will be changing the names of all the cosplay stuff to singingaway, and the website will be changing as well.  So you will only see cosplay pictures of me or of the people I took the photos of.

This is all really sad for us. We did cry a lot because it was painful to have to take it all down. Yes, we had to take down a lot of pictures as well.

Anyway, some of the members will now be behind the scenes only when helping with the cosplay.

We are very sorry about this bad news and if a picture you liked from us got deleted. We hope you stick around for our future stuff though.

Pushing Through

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 26, 2015, 7:58 PM

I'm so tired! OMG

Well, despite all the bad things I'm still planning a new cosplay (FINALLY) rather soon. The weather is staying good and once I'm off-call my sister plans to get together with me to do the Yuuki cosplay. I'm a little nervous about my prop for Yuuki though. I need to get some grease for it. I have a REALLY hard time putting it together and taking apart and we can't have that. The thing can't fit in the car when it is attached. LOL I blame the whacked out weather for it being that way.

Cosplay, Conventions, Photography they are not dieing out for me yet!

Sadly, there will be no conventions for me this year. Health wise and money wise (thanks to health I'm broke) it just wouldn't be smart. This doesn't mean I don't wanna plan for more cosplay. I'm actually in the mood to cosplay more mature female characters. Some of my ideas are Esdeath from Akame Ga Kill and Blair from Soul Eater. I have other ideas as well but I can't really make up my mind on anything. Do you have any recommendations? I won't cosplay anything that shows my stomach though, sorry! My scar is not healed enough for me to be brave enough to show it. orz

However, though I love to cosplay, I'm starting to like being behind a camera a lot too. Don't be surprised if I start to do more of the picture taking of other cosplayers rather than being the cosplayer.

Damn my health

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 27, 2015, 12:01 PM

So... I was thrown back into the hospital. The good news to all this is that there was no immediate surgery to have to go through (thank god I didn't want my scar to be worse). It wasn't to say my hospital stay was a comfortable one (they never are). I was tortured with a lot of different things, one that I hate is the painful/burning shot they put in my stomach. You don't get to sleep either with all the checking up on. DX Once I got home I probably slept for a good 12 hours.

Had another CT scan and my results where not as bad as they were a year ago but there was one spot they are wondering about because they had seen it there last year and the fact that it hasn't gone away is a small concern. I couldn't really understand what my doctor was saying but it seems like a place that was swollen or a spot that wasn't suppose to be there. They plan to do an MRI in three months to get a closer look. I'm not really worried but there has to be some reason I keep getting sick like this. It is VERY frustrating.

I lost about 4 more pounds though, haha. Eh, as long as I don't get sick again I will probably gain it all back and more real fast. I'm going to do my best to eat even healthier though to see if my stomach will behave. Doctor wants me to eat this protein bars so I guess that will be my new desert. orz

I guess the reason I'm posting all this on here (don't usually post really person things on DA) is because if we seem MIA that is a lot of the reason. I don't want to be done with cosplay but it will be a slower process before we can do anything brand new. SIGH

New Video CS!

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 6, 2015, 5:35 PM

So... we have been a little MIA here. There is a planned Yuuki (vampire knight) shoot soon but the weather here is... well it is a bit bi-polar. This morning it was in the 20s and by the afternoon is was already in the high 60s almost in the 70s and I think tomorrow it will get up to 80s 0_0

Anyway, we are making a new video this weekend. This time it will mostly just feature one cosplay, with a small appearance from another series/cosplay. That would be Misato from Evangelion and the guest appearance is Rangiku from Bleach. I don't want to give too much away but I'm going to be trying some different things with my filming... hope I can pull off at least 50% of what I have planned. I'm just not so good with a camera when it comes to movement. LOL

Um, until then... I promise more photos in  the near future!

We really wanted to have a Christmas video done - at least - but finding the time... OMG!!! Maybe we will do a few short things. Our inspiration on the song is what kept us from really getting into it. Bad cosplayers, bad! lol Also, I finally got the Yuuki uniform to cosplay in and the awesome artemis she uses so hopefully we can find time to take some of those - though it will have to be in 2015.

Guys, I feel like the grinch this Christmas. My co-workers had to guilt me to get me to even decorate this year. LOL

Maybe I will feel like it when I get the chance to make my apartment smell like Christmas thanks to all the baking I plan on doing for Christmas gifts.

Uh, not much else to say. I just felt the need to make another post because the other one still had Halloween stuff.

P.S. Playing around in photoshop again. Oh memories... it makes me want to work on my websites some more - maybe redesign a few of them.
