Soulstealer witch

Now this is something new for us. Sindeon, our organization was contacted by non other than the owners of M.A.G.U.S. You probably have no idea who they are: M.A.G.U.S. is a hungarian roleplaying system, something like D&D or Vampire. They saw our costume, the mage, which was based on a rolebook illustration, and wanted us to make more costumes for them.

This costume is also set in Ynew (the name of the world in M.A.G.U.S). We received no illustration, just a general idea about the character and it was our job to design the look. 

About the character: she is a witch, but not your typical swamp-dwelling one. She moves around in noble circles, and looks for her victims here. If she finds a rich family, she will steal the soul of someone (daugter, mother, etc), and asks for horrible amount of money to give it back to the family. Or, she will ask for favors, anything you can imagine. 

Now the idea behind the costume design: she must look something noble, so using lace was basic. We did not want to go with the typical "witch" colors: not too much black, definitely not red or burgundy. The jewelry was another basic idea: cameo is a typical medieval design, with portraits of your family: why should not she also wear her victim's souls? So she has cameo style neclace and also rings, earrings and bracelet. 

Another cool thing that does not show well on this picture: the medal is actually wired, and the portaits light up from the back whenever she wants. Cool right? We built the LED line as well. Since the dress is so tight, the batteries are hidden in her hair.

What is this about? Sindeon is a LARP-styled children's camp in Hungary. Our nonprofit organization creates all the costumes, armors, weapons. The fight system is not combat-oriented; we do not use latex/boffer swords but a ring-based complex rule book. A MAGUS-sal történt múlt heti beszélgetésünk alapján elkészítettünk egy új jelmezt. A társaság leírta nekünk a karaktert amire gondoltak, de ránk bízták a megvalósítást, így a ruha és a világító kameák Sindeon design alapján készültek. Milyen is ez a boszorkány? Nemesi körökben forgolódó, elegáns úrihölgy, ki e nívós társaságból válogatja áldozatait hogy lelküket elrabolhassa. A túszul ejtett lelket csak busás váltágdíj megfizetése után engedi szabadon. Mi ezt úgy képzeltük el, hogy a lelkek az általa viselt ékszereken, portéként jelennek meg, emlékeztetve mindenkit a boszorkány hatalmára. Sajnos a fotón kevéssé látszik, hogy az ékszereket LED-del világítjuk meg, pedig izgalmas ahogy felvillanak a portrék.
