Look! A drawing!

This is for *Ferahgo-the-Assassin on occasion of a random art exchange at Hell Creek [link] . I fell into my own trap with this one. Earlier, we'd discussed things we would like to see more often in palaeoart, and, well, we all agreed that dinosaurs doing "birdy" things is one of them. I suggested dust baths. Then I got asked to do it .

I used ~shartman's skeletal of Dave, that beautiful fuzzy fossil of a young dromaeosaur, as a reference, but honestly I don't think the finished product is especially Dave-like. So, let him just be an unspecified young dromaeosaur taking a dust bath.

I have to say, me and perspective, or shading, or *feathers* don't really get along. Still, I'm satisfied with this guy if only for the fact that I actually drew him. Hope the queen of painting fuzzy birdosaurs likes it too :D

I think the perspective and shading and feathers look great! I like how you've drawn the wings. The basic shape of them looks really nice, but I guess for a minor critique, you could try more clearly-defining the primary feathers on the wings in the future, if you want it to look more feathertastic. But you did a great job with your dust-bath idea, I love it. :)

Thanks!

(Honestly? I have zero patience, and feathers make me cry. I erased and re-did the head/neck/breast area at least half a dozen times. I guess I had no willpower left for primaries ^^;)
