Byzantine army charge.

This might seems too artistic or even fantasy but I draw it in inspiration of an "Praecepta Militaria" X century military  treatise. It tell's us about strong pike formations, extra heavy cavalry units, strong discipline, such cool things ). I'm also tried to step outside 'ospray' narrow borders and draw a lot of decorative 'pterigas' , muscle cuirasses and some other ancient style things, we really can see in a miniatures, frescos and icons of Byzantium. This might look like the answer on the question "what it looks like if romans remain in the medieval era?"... Actually they were true romans.
