So you've moved to 10 now huh.  So sad that you stopped making themes for windows now although i can understand the reasons. The theming community went into a wrong way when a lot of great thememakers left or worse... passed away(R.I.P neiio), also cause of paid themes and idiots who think that making a deskthemepack counts as a quality theme :(

Im going to attempt to get back into theming again. Windows 10 Theme files have changed so much that many window elements have swapped around and the program i use (WSB) does not acknowledge it at all. I have to create a spreadsheet to help me with where what is now. It will take me some time to start digging into this new theme file to find the things I need. Give me some time, i will eventually post a small theme just to work off of as a test one for window 10.

Ye, hope you're going to at least support all of the redstone versions if you're going to consider making a theme. M$'s frequent update policy kinda doesn't suit me(i shoulda installed the LTSB version :( ), my C: drive is kinda low (37gigs free) so i'm stayin' on anniversary update.

Also good luck on that, the theming community isn't the same without you :)

Also i dunno if you would do it since you left the theming community, but if you could then may you port the Windows Classic taskbar in SiB++ since it isn't compatible?

ye, it's great :P

also if you're going to port the themes you made for Win8.1 you gotta consider that the titlebar buttons aren't the same than in Win8.1(i prefer calling this Vista-style since the button style started from Windows Vista :P), so that's alas a bad thing.

Yeah the caption buttons seem to go semi transparent and are big!!! but I worked around those issues. Here is a more refined explorer. :D  Adobe CC Dark.

Ye, it's nice :P

iirc you can kinda change the windowmetrics so the buttons will have the size like 8.1's, but if you can make the close button have more space and edit the margins for no misclicking, i dunno.

here are the settings for winaero tweaker to make the windows look like 8.1's: imgur.com/a/0w37J

I dunno if i'm right with the settings but it should be.

A couple of questions...
a) How did I miss this before now? (More of a rhetorical question tbh)
b) Why drop skinning entirely?
c) Why back to Windows 10?

skinning got boring and that section has been hit hard with spam themes by "i dont want to say their name" nothing but ad filled paid themes. XD

Back on 10 because I missed using an app called "Ear Trumpet" to manage audio coming from all apps and makes it so you can mute ones that dont show up in the mixer. And the fact that my hardware has bad drivers for 8.1 To many blue screens XD

Fair enough, if you're getting bored of it, then I wish you the best of luck in finding something more interesting. Shame to hear, though...I've always looked up to your work. What I've seen from you is of extremely high quality, showing thorough attention to detail, something a lot of Visual Style artists don't understand for...some reason.

Shame about those drivers though...hate it when OEM half-assery takes a rock-solid OS and fires cannonballs at it until it splits in half :C

Funny thing is...I'd actually been debating inviting you into the Start9 Insider Program, but I never quite got around to it...guess I should've while I still had the chance .-.

I might install a virtual machine and start theming that way. Its also kinda hard to do on my 1440p 144hz monitor. It upscales the dpi to make it easier to see elements/text. It messes with when I want to work with lower dpi stuff. haha

Interesting start menu. I was always fond of that one right before Microsoft axed it for the crap we have today XD

A VM, huh? To see you not disappear after all would be...awesome, quite frankly. May as well note that Windows 8.x and 10 both have ways to lower the DPI to 100% (96)...unless your monitor is physically too small for that to be usable...ugh, makes me glad I've only got 1366x768 and 1280x1024, lol ;-;

Wait...really? O:
Well should you find yourself getting back into skinning stuff after all, the offer remains open - after all, I want Start9's skinning engine to be as absurdly flexible as possible, but without input from those who might be interested in developing skins for it, that will never happen. There are limitations and design opportunities obvious to some that I may well be completely blind to. Should you find yourself interested...just send me a Note.
(Sorry if this comes across as a self-plug, I just got carried away in excitement, lol ._. )

the issue with dropping it to 100% is the text/ui elements get super small, almost impossible to see comfortably XD  But I fixed that with vmware player. Dont have to constantly reset my settings when done theming since it will be only through the vm. I need to go through my pc and try to find some of my themes I accidentally deleted off my google drive haha. I will def message you.  My side projects have been messing with old video game music recently. I fixed up a midi ripped from dk64 and updated it with FLStudio. Have a listen if you are interested. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QEijO…

Right...well, glad to hear a VM solves the problem, and best of luck finding those themes :V
If they were released ones, and you can't find them, I might have some of them lying around...somewhere...depending on which ones...

*staring blankly at deviantArt Note Inbox thingy*

*also listening to provided dk64 remix*

So, what's happening themes-wise, you going to make WindowBlinds Themes, Visual Styles, or give up for now?
Also, nice desktop.

Oh right! :D
Well, I do have some themes (not visual styles, they don't require any theme patchers).

Take Care! :D
