This is a piece that I submitted in the hopes that IDW would use as a pin-up/alt cover in the upcoming TRANSFORMERS REGENERATION ONE issue 100 special, as it was always a dream to draw something in the original continuity. However, the powers that be don't seem particularly interested in using it, so I'm posting it here.

By the way... the characters on the cover AREN'T a spoiler for that issue. I just picked key characters from the series and drew them in a Kirby-esque style.

Fantastic. Really conveys the old 80's comics, while cleverly homaging G2 with the logo. Also, love the crease, adds to that physical comic authenticity.:)

BEAUTIFUL! Sorry they didn't go for it. Don't take it to heart though I think they have had something set and locked in place for a while (though they haven't told me what).

Aside from the great artwork, I LOVE the creased and worn corners, making it look like a much-loved issue in a Transformers comics fan's collection!

If I see two stacks of comics somewhere, one of issues in a similar condition, and the other consisting of crisp and shiny new issues, I usually find myself immediately drawn to the former. The first stack seems friendly, warm and welcoming, while the latter is usually off-putting to the point that I'd try to keep my distance. I'd be more comfortable with a stack of bagged and boarded "mint" comics than that second stack; though I'd be uncomfortable opening any to check them out.

Anyhoo...

I love it! Sad to hear they didnt use it but it is one awesome creation, hmm dunno why but Optimus design and the simple design, hell his arms is some squares more or less but still so cool to look on, gives me some kind of emotion whenever I see him or Transformers. Love the series.

Clearly, the problem was with the credits.  They ought to be reading:

Williams * Furman * Wildman * Baskerville * Bove
