As in, I'm showing you stuff I've drawn from the age of 5 and upwards.
I've always been an artist. I don't remember a time when I didn't want to draw. I used to draw bookmarks for family members at Christmas and make them with Mum. We still have some somewhere. Not sure where but I used to draw Dachshunds and flowers on them.
So, here are some images of my art from over the years, starting from age 5. Not all the years have a picture for them, mostly because my style and such didn't have vast improvements that are worth showing. Plus I don't want people to get bored by the time they've gotten through this lol!

This is a picture of a TV with Rude Dog (from Rude Dog and the Dweebs) on it. You can see I have the anatomy techniques of a small child
I loved drawing my favourite cartoons, dogs, cats, parrots and other objects such as TVs, foodbowls, bones, anything that went with what I was drawing. I wasn't afraid to try out drawing new things and I always had a go at trying to make pictures with as many life details as I could (such as the buttons on the side of the TV, based on a TV we had at the time). Also when I was that age, I spelled it "Rood Dog" and insisted that he wasn't rude in any way

A couple of pictures from a drawing book I had. I used to have lots of little drawing books, I still have most of them. The picture on the right is a cat in a garden. We had neighbors who had three white cats so I drew them. They also had a tabby who ran away from home because the kids next door only liked the white ones (white Mum had had three kittens, two white, one tabby). The picture on the right I did with felt tip pens. I used these but I think I mostly used coloured pencils. I liked to draw German Shepherds because they had easy faces. This one appears to have been dunked in paint of some kind though lol!

A pair of parrots. We used to breed lorikeets and I got my love of birds that way. I loved drawing parrots, they were my favourite birds. Anything with parrots on was good in my books. These two are random ones I drew....having a tea party or something. Interesting to note, the patterns on the food and water bowls are taken from the patterns on those of Littlest Pet Shop food bowls. I loved Littlest Pet Shop when I was a kid and incorporated the designs into my pet accessories. Also, this was back when Littlest Pet Shop was actually cool and each pet did something different, not the cheesy Japanesey crap of today.

Moar parrots!! This is an example of characters I used to do; goodies and baddies. I'd draw one who was perfect and good and another who was their brother or whatever and was "Bad to the bone" and covered with spikes, amputated limbs, vicious teeth, pointy bits and punkiness. You can see this reflected in my characters today, like Riktus.

Anatomy inprovements, my art started really getting better now. I filled this little book with pen drawings and this was one of them. Another made up thing with a bio (and terrible grammar) I liked to do reptile features on mammalian creatures. This was some kind of dog/croc (other animals I loved growing up, crocs, dinosaurs and sharks) but I like his design so I'm showing him. He was a good example of my imagination and creativity for character creation at a young age.

Two characters in a tent. This is an example of the rare times I drew full coloured with backgrounds pictures. I was staying with my third cousin in Texas at the time I drew this. Just cos I was in another country, I wouldn't stop drawing. The colouring is still scratchy and not very good but I give myself points for the details in this and the cut away idea for the tent so you can see inside. Points taken for the lame title of the book though "Ghosty Stories" what was I thinking.... Another interesting note, I was a Sonic fan....I have been all my life (you can see a Sonic Comic in this pic) and I stumbled across pics of him I drew when I was 6. They really weren't bad actually.

This guy was part of a set of characters I did. Dogs who could turn into cars. I got the idea from the TV show, Hot Rod Dogs and Cool Car Cats although they were just dog and cats crossed with cars; they couldn't transform. I took it a step ahead. This was a bad guy. There were about 5 goodies and 5 baddies in this set. Note the HUBCAP SPIKES. I drew those a lot on my cars....especially the evil ones.

A couple of things I did when I was 17. Some kind of Hyena creature and my first ever Pokémorph. A Meowth called Norvik. I coloured my pictures a lot more at this age, I think I felt it shouldn't be rushed and I should take my time. My shading kinda sucked but learning the folds of clothing was going well. Again with the fantasy creatures though; I've always felt happiest drawing things like that, that follow no real rule of reality.

You can now see elements of today's art in this pen drawing of a Lynx creature.
I went through phases where I drew more, or drew less or had more or less time for drawing but I don't think a single month of my life has ever gone by where I've drawn nothing at all. In fact, I have to draw, it's what I love doing and when I don't, I get cravings to doodle something. My art has come a long way since the days of Rude Dog on the TV or brightly coloured parrots. My tastes have changed too, I mostly draw fantasy still but tend not to base things on existing creatures so much like the dog/cars I did.
I drew a lot of fanart as well growing up, I just haven't shown it cos I wanted to show you guys how creative I was even at the time we all have when we want to draw what's in our head but don't yet have the ability to. I hated those times. I'm glad that now, mostly, I can get down on paper what I can imagine in my mind.
I didn't always intend art to be my career though. Originally I wanted to breed and show Dachshunds. Then I wanted to be a veterinary nurse and I finally settled on animation. Over the years I found that drawing wasn't my only talent and that I can paint and sculpt too. Hopefully I'll keep on improving and finding new abilities that I have artwise.
I hope you enjoyed looking back at what makes my art what it is today!
