Wyatt had separated from his phase 1 companions for this leg of the race, and continued on through the mountains of Obertauern with his stallion Moose, taking their time to enjoy the scenery.

It had been snowy and relatively cold for most of this phase so far, so Wyatt had pulled his poncho out from his saddlebags and wrapped it around his coat for some extra insulation. The sun was just peeking through a layer of clouds towards the end of the day when the pair came across a stream cutting through the forest.

Dismounting, Wyatt took hold of his horse’s lead rope and led Moose down to the gurgling water, where the stallion leaned down and began to drink. As Moose took his fill of the refreshing, albeit cold, water, Wyatt looked out across the stream to the dense, snow covered forests beyond where the pair would continue to travel. He noticed how quiet and peaceful everything was in this winterscape, the deep snow muffling any sound, and felt a profound sense of calm.
