all I really know about go-fund-me is they take a 5% out of the funds. there's also youcaring.com that's only 2.9% for processing. So it might be a better choice but I've never really used either site aside from donating to someone else.
If you can draw enough attention to your campaign things can really take off. Major downside is you'll probably have to go into everything that's going on in your life and why you need help. Which can be both helpful and depressing has fuck(I've had to do this for my patreon, it sucked but seemed to help.) Aside from getting money that way... man, if there are any social services you can take advantage of in your area. Like, I get a "low income energy" rebate thing on my heating and electric costs. Food stamps are worth it if you're in an area that has them.
Your family can go fuck themselves if they're disappointed. You're more important than arbitrary ideas of success.
I hope things start to improve. I know I kinda came out of nowhere with all this but... I went through this kind of shit for the past four years with clinical depression making everything shittier.
