Life is a funny little thing
That hides in the corners
And goes leaping and bounding
It doesn't like to be looked at.
If you go looking for it
In months and weeks and days,
You'll hardly ever find it;
But if you sidle toward it
Looking out of the corner of your eye,
You might find it in a minute
And catch it in a second.
You'd better be ready to run, if you catch it,
Because it's never in the same place twice.
If you have the courage to hold it,
It'll take you in a wild, exhilarating
You'll get to know it pretty well.
If you're scared, and let go,

A Pathetic Tale of Woe

Jack: What? I thought we were repairing the Prometheus? Carter!
Sam: I don't know what happened, sir! Maybe when we powered up the reactor to test the buffer, there was a malfunction…
Jack: Whatever! Can you fix it??
Sam: I don't know what to fix!
Jonas: (coming up ladder from below) Hey, the engine room disappeared! I was watching the reactor output, when suddenly it spiked and POOF! The room was gone, and I was down there surrounded by crates!
Teal'c: (coming around the boom) What has occurred, O'Neill?
Jack: I don't know! What's that NOISE?
The world tilts, the ground shudders;
Panic claws at mind and heart.
No tears fall; I cannot cry.
It happened so slowly, and yet so fast.
What can I do?
I thought the hills would never meet.
What cataclysm rocks the ground,
What warping of topology
Has twisted my world and left it the same?
The wind screams and the sky boils
And I push it all away.
I will not think that the hills have met.
The sky refuses its tears
And the hills cannot cry
Does the lost valley weep?
When the tremors cease and the burned sky heals,
Will the hills remain together,
The valley remains, but where is its place,
What can one do, when the hills mee
We'd moved into the hotel without a problem. It was a really nice place; beach-resort-for-rich-people kind of hotel. I didn't have a roommate yet, so I moved into my room by myself while the rest of the girls ran about chattering while they unpacked their things. While I didn't have a suite like some of the others, my small room had a wonderful view of the beach from both windows and a sliding-glass door to the balcony. I was positive that the view would be even more beautiful on a clear day; today was fairly bright but overcast, with darker clouds on the horizon, out over the ocean. My room was on floor sixteen, out of eighteen, if you belie

I occasionally go on art binges when I really feel the need to look at a lot of beautiful pictures. What kind of art I go after tends to be of whatever fandom I'm currently dwelling in, whether that's pictures of cute pastel ponies from FIM or kickass robots from Transformers. I suspect that my favorites folders are in a bit of disarray!
I haven't uploaded anything in forever, have I? My scrapbooking is way behind and I haven't been taking pictures of the pages... that's kinda meta, though, pictures of scrapbooks made of pictures? Far out, right? haha
I've been practicing my aquascaping but as it turns out, creating art out of living
So now that spring has arrived, I've actually been taking quite a few photos of flowers and stuff. Maybe I'll get around to posting my best shots on here at some point! I'll have to remember to snag them off the camera before Jonathan moves them all to his PC. And since I'm actually on DA I guess I can post one pic I thought was pretty decent... LOL
