Clipboard Meter Gadget inspired by the well-known Windows Sidebar gadgets.

The Clipboard Meter Gadget is a collaboration between Eclectic-Tech and myself, based on his Illustro Clipboard+ skin with styling to match the Gadgets suite.

  • Manages up to 10 items copied to your clipboard.
  • Supports text, images, files, and data.
  • Left-click a clip to move it to the top of the stack and onto your Windows clipboard, then paste it where you want.
  • Middle-click any unselected clip to delete it from the stack.
  • Double-click the clipboard icon to clear all clips and your Windows clipboard.
  • Allows setting to topmost window position.
  • Configurable tooltips show the text of multi-line clips.
  • Scales to any desired size.

*** Requires Rainmeter 3.3.3 or later. ***

*** NOTE ***
The installer is in the form of a patch, which will patch your existing Gadgets installation. If you don't have the Gadgets suite installed, it will install as a standalone skin.

4.0.0 - 2018-03-17: Added ability to clear the Windows clipboard and all clips.

Pressing the mouse-wheel (Middle Button) on an unselected line in the clipboard meter does not clear the line. Using Logitech g502 Proteus Spectrum -- Windows 10 x64 Pro and Rainmeter 4.2 beta r3018 x64.

Clipboard Meter 3.0.1 is being used.

Also, I know  cmd /c "echo off | clip"   clears the clipboard with single line, but I am wanting to clear the lines shown in Clipboard Meter too. Are the lines past line 1 displayed specifically history clippings of the clipboard stored in rainmeter or is it also in the clipboard itself? Just asking this because trying to keep my clipboard cleared when I go away from the pc while it is still on, and also when I am about to install new software I like to clear my clipboard.

Suggestion: ability to add timer based clipboard clearing ie., every x time (specified by user) has passed and os = windows then perform  cmd /c "echo off | clip" else set timer to ignore. Not sure what the command would be for other operating systems but this is for windows 7 and up according to microsoft.

When I use it manually via a shortcut it is as: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe cmd /c "echo off | clip"

Hello... Regarding the middle-mouse button, I'm not sure what to tell you.  It works for me on multiple machines with all sorts of different mice; I have not heard from anyone else that this is an issue.  I'm not sure the mouse brand matters; as long as Windows recognizes the click, it should work.  As for clearing the clipboard, the individual clips are stored in the Clipboard plugin, not in Windows (or Rainmeter).  Unfortunately, the only way to clear all the clips in one shot is to restart Rainmeter (which will reload the plugin).  If you want a timer, or a button, to clear the stack, that should be easy for you to add if you want it (including clearing the topmost clip using your command-line).  You'd just fire off 10 "delete" commands to the plugin, followed by your command-line trick to remove the final clip... something like that.

The author isn't maintaining the plugin anymore as far as I know, so not much else I can suggest.  You can see his original posting here (…), and he mentions the source is on Github.

Lol. I looked and apparently, the mouse was turned off on middle mouse click within its software. Damn.. of all things I missed the simplest of things to look for... It does work indeed after I turned it on -- still not sure why it was turned off to begin with.

Good deal... BTW, I added the ability to clear the clipboard (and all clips) into the Clipboard Meter.  Look for the feature in the next version.
