Woah, this is truly amazing! It looks like it was done traditionally, but it's digital! What programs/brushes you use? I'd say Photoshop, but I'm not certain.
The composition is really outstanding, you have a great technique! I really like the dusty yellow tones you used here. A great piece of art, indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what happens when you decide to turn a Covenant cruiser into a hot rod!
This is really neat though! I like the literal interpretation of a Space Race in that there's actually some form of race competition going on. I like the colors, especially the ones of the ship in the foreground that seem to clash and stand out against the desert landscape. The other ships in the picture really give the sense of action and activity in the overall piece. I also like how you gave all of the racers in this scene a unique design too. Every person out there is one of a kind and they all stand out, but of course, I really like the one in the foreground the most.
Excellent work. It's a simple concept, but I like the way that it's executed. Good work!
Thanks for your comments!
I did an image search of the covenant cruiser and lo and behold - how similar it is! even the round shape, which you cannot easily tell from my side-view, is exactly what i hoped to describe. However, my design is an old image that likely predates this Halo design by a few years. Maybe they took a page from my design book
A friend actually told me that my ship reminded her of the 'Reavers' ship from from the Serenity movie. I realized this was true - i had just seen that movie not long before designing this, and the front end is very reminiscent of that ship.
Funny how we are all influenced by what we see. star wars, TV commercials, video games...stuff gets in there no matter what!
