Sorry about the absence, all ~nobody who reads this thing. I got a job back in January, which is great. Along with the job I got 3 hours a day on public transportation, which is not so great. So I've been a little distracted. I've landed in science publishing. I'm not really sure how, but it happened, and I'm not going to complain. It's pretty sweet. I get to read science all day. :)
But that's why I've been gone. Looking for work in all the wrong places. Then living on the train.
I've submitted my final projects for most of my classes. Now I have two finals left on Monday, and after that my first year back at College is over. Then I'll be back to my husband, cat, and REALLY AWESOME (apartment in a historically-listed mid-19th century manor home made in the style and with the techniques of Tudor England) new home back in the UK.
And after that, one more year...
after five years. And it's weird.
My first undergraduate degree is in Fine Art, and I'm currently working on a second BA in Art Conservation. :)
Bad thing is, my college is in Delaware... and my husband and cat are still in England.
So, after receiving an easel as a birthday present, I've started painting again. It'd been years, no lie. It's not that I haven't been making art, just that pretty much everything I've done since moving to the UK has been digital.
I'm still a little rusty, but getting back into the swing of things pretty quickly. The upside to all this is that I am again using the skills I used as an art student. The downside? Paint in my hair.
