For me she looks bored, tired but not confused
I'm not sure but it seems that she knows that It's her destiny to rise the sun somehow without having a cutiemark
she knows she must do it, she feels guilty she didn't do it yet
(well those are emotions that fill me when I try to place myself in her place on that pic)

She got her cutie mark later. When the unicorns when there was none enough who could accomplish the task, she intervened and raised the sun by herself. Same for Luna.

I like both scenarios, is that bad? Still great piece did great on the shading and the texturing. Still you could of brought more of the texture out with the strokes. Still really great piece.
