ChariBlast sketch process by Silent-Neutral ChariBlast sketch process by Silent-Neutral
The lines for pokemon battle pic. I like how Charizard came out, and Blastoise was very cooperative : ) the only thing I didn't like drawing was Chari's wings -__- took me three times to sketch them out right. But I think I did okay in the end.

I made Blastoise look like a scaly blue panther with a shell on it's back xD

Y-you draw with such beautiful clean lines I don't even ;w; Is this in photoshop?

Normally I just stop at step 2 and think "eue;; I suck at this I think I'll just slap on some color now"

do I? awuh, thankyou Tiger. I think the trick is to just sketch without thinking too much about perfection, that's why I did so many sketches first - it makes the final outcome easier to determine, because the 4th step is pretty much just tracing over the 3rd step : )) maybe add a few details here and there, but you don't stress as much.
and yes! this is photoshop CS2. I like to just use the one program for everything...

Yes. You clearly do. :la:

Thanks for the tips! I tend to cover all my lines with colors, so I rarely use clean lineart. That and I'm STILL not very used to sketching with a tablet (It's been almost 2 years lmao, I do not know what I'm doing wrong)

 Using one program is good. SAI and photoshop have slight compatibility issues, so it's usually a bit of a hassle switching between the two.

I want to to be able to paint without lines tooo : ( I did a few, but they require lots of tweaking : p not good at sketching? use different line widths and keep sketching over it again and again : D

I had SAI. It confuses me. everyone says it's great and tells me to use it, but it just means having to work more, re-learning how to use programs and I really am bad with tech xD yes, exactly my point...the hassle of using multiple programs. but I'm sure it serves some artists well

Ahahahaha even though I like it, I rarely recommend it to others. For me, it's quite messy and involves a LOT of tweaking. Since it usually involves very minimal layers (in my case, a single layer for everything), any mistake is a complete ass to fix. ("..Oh look his leg is off. GDI (╯‵Д′)╯彡┻━┻ ")

I've read quite a few tutorial on sketching, and everyone recommends going from thicker lines to thinner lines. While I KNOW it, in the end: 3px brush for everything :dummy: I-I think I'll just shut up and go practice more now-

Aaaahhh well whatever works for you. :la: I didn't start using SAI because it was great, more like photoshop kept making my pc hang..
If you want paint programs though I hear Corel's Painter and ArtRage are pretty awesome as well.
