Just Their Luck

Are those the same Argonians in the new Elsweyr trailer that we saw in the Morrowind one? They look hellishly familiar... and yet again confronted with too much epicness for them to handle.

For those that haven't yet seen the new, epic, future installment for ESO, HERE BE DRAGONS: [link]

That is a huge gif and I appreciate it. XD

It's tough to eke out a living as a working-class Argonian these days.
ShoutFinder's avatar
It'll be made even harder once dragons start ambushing wayfarers on the roadsides again. -_-

Well I hope they'd at least negotiate for hazard pay, in that case.

Haha, this is exactly what I thought when I saw them in the trailer. I really hope that they get a cameo in the game sometime in the future.

XD one day perhaps! Would be fun to ask their opinion.

Wait, what!? They brought back dragons??? I mean, I guess there's been dragons at different point in time. Tiber Septim had a personal dragon after all, Nafaalilargus. And there were different kings serving as protectors for lone dragons. But idk if there should be any at the time of TES: Online?

They have indeed brought dragons back into Tamriel! So it'll be interesting to see how this will be explained over the year :D

There can be variety of reasons if you know the lore. My guess is that the vault is where the Elsweyr nobility kept the dragons housed. Many individual nobles served as protectors for Dragons fleeing their genocide after the end of the dragon war and Alduin's dragon cult. If I remember correctly, they were fleeing the blades/dragonguard slaughtering them. I don't remember.

The Dragonguard were the Order devoted to slaying the dragons, so if they fled for their lives from anything, it would most certainly be from them.

I know. It's just that I was drawing that dragon lore from cliff notes I read a long time ago so I didn't remember it entirely how it went chronologically.

I thought that too because that's the impression Skyrim Dialogue gives you (There's even a guard that states that something about not being dragon around the time of Tiber Septim when you find out you're a dragonborn), BUT resarching a bit into the lore I've found out dragon disappeared completely only after Tiber's ascension to godhood, so albeit rare they were still around during the interregnum.

Dragons existed all around the eras if you research into it, but they're extremely rare. Vulthuryol existed in blackreach through the ages, Mirmulnir & Paarthurnax lived quietly in the mountains, and several rulers served as protectors for dragons fleeing the wrath of blades/humans in general. The Skyrim's guard dialogue about no dragons being in the age of Tiber Septim shouldn't be taken into account because Elder Scrolls largely suffers from the unreliable narrator from conflicting lore to ignorant people. Ordinary folk won't know the truth of things if they're not historians or scholars.

Prevailing theory is that ESO takes place during a Dragonbreak, so lots of nonsense can happen out of time and out of order. Dragons are upcoming, and somehow we’re going to be releasing them on accident in the next DLC. UESP cited some dev-talk that female dragons called Jills end dragonbreaks, and my guess is that in the next DLC, we will try to awaken some Jills to put time right but goof up and just awaken some dragons instead.

I'd like to see an official representation of Jills.

Hehe, they might even be the same Argonians from the first trailer for the game. XD They aren't wearing the red sash in that one though.

Love it!
ShoutFinder's avatar
Actually they are wearing one, hence came my mental question of "hang on, these guys...? XD"
Cheers! :D
