My buddy Bree is running a Kickstarter for her amazingly charming webcomic, Patrik the Vampire, and I had the chance to contribute a print as one of the backer rewards!  I can’t even say how much fun it is to draw Patrik, and I jumped at the opportunity to get some 1790′s fashion and guillotines up in the mix. >:]

You can read the webcomic HERE, and back the campaign HERE!

I don't know the character, but this is a fun piece! Appealing to my eye. The red string around the necks is splendid. I enjoy the colors and composition.

Curious, curious... I've heard the story of French aristocrats who survived the revolution wearing a red ribbon around their necks as some kind of a reminder of their near miss with the guillotine, but I must wonder about the symbolism of the good vampire fellow holding the ends of the strings here.
