My final piece for Ham4Pamphlet, the Hamilton zine curated by the amazing Arielle Jovellanos to give to the cast when she got to go backstage this weekend! I’m so honored to be a part of this project alongside so many other amazing, Hamilton-obsessed artists, aaaaaaand the fact that Daveed Diggs liked my piece is most definitely a bonus.
Thanks to Lin for writing these words, and to Daveed for bringing them to life.
Lafayette looks like the radiant french man he is
that is so good though
SO MUCH DETAIL
AND SO DYNAMIC
I LOVE IT
I absolutely love your art, and this picture in particular.
I live in France, and here nobody knows about the musical. Until last week, all I knew about Hamilton was that it's a musical you drew twice about and that Mike Pence got booed when showing up at a representation. Then you posted a picture on Instagram about going to see it for the second time, and I thought "Damn, this got to be something. I should go listen to it". I was really intrigued.
AAAaaaaand I fell in love instantly. I have not been able to listen to anything else since then. Gosh it's so inspiring! So dynamic (love the modern hip hop/pop music, this choice is just brilliant), so relevant, so contemporary (you totally can link some parts to current issues), so bold, and the lyrics are so well written! #ImmigrantsWeGetTheJobDone
Anyway, thanks for your art that, in addition to being gorgeous, lead me to discover an amazing musical.
Love from France!
