* The Ultimate Weapon's power systems can generate 2D of damage per hour. The Ultimate Weapon's superlaser can only fire at maximum power.
** Due to the immense size of the Ultimate Weapon, it is divided into 24 distinct zones, each equally equipped with weapons. Only weapons within the specific zone adjacent to an attacking ship can be brought to bear at any given time; often, the actual number of weapons that can be brought to bear is significantly lower.

After twenty years of set-backs, supply delays and material shortages, an unruly manual labor force, forced secrecy, relocations, and reconfigurations, Executor Tarkin’s desired masterpiece reached fruition. The Ultimate Weapon (privately referred to by Tarkin as his “star of death”) would become the centerpiece of his Conquest Through Fear doctrine, a principle that would drive the Galactic Dominion’s war-footing against the Galactic Republic. His ambitions knew no bounds, as members of his inner circle knew from his planned usurping of control of the Confederacy of Independent Systems into its eventual transformation into the Galactic Dominion.

The intent behind the Ultimate Weapon is not to simply defeat the forces of the Galactic Republic, but to utterly crush them in an overt show of destruction. While Tarkin would prefer that a captured world would bow to his authority and be added to his sphere of galactic control, any resistance encountered could be met with swift destruction, thereby presenting an example to other worlds that their fate could be decided by such a weapon. And if a particular world proved to be too important to galactic politics to outright destroy, the Ultimate Weapon could field entire Dominion armies to conquer and occupy it.

Little does Tarkin know that a flaw exists with his prize… and that both the Republic and Jedi seek to exploit it.

I think the death star is 160 kilometers in diameter. source Star Wars Rogue One the ultimate visual guide book

You are correct in one aspect.
But 160km is the diameter of the 2nd Death Star. The first is 120km.

(EDIT: Ok the first is 160km (Close to 100mi) and the second is 200km (124mi).

(EDIT2: They're both right but one is in the new canon [The larger sizes: DS1=160km, DS2=200km]
and one is in the old canon or legends [The smaller sizes: DS1=120km (75mi), DS2=160km (100mi)])

Darn got my numbers wrong. There were other accounts of sizes but I guess they were wrong and I may have also been thinking of radius. (Which would still be off.)

Oh I had it right all along.
I guess the new canon changed the sizes. How odd...

Correct. But the Ultimate Weapon doesn't fall into the canon, nor the EU settings. It's set in an alternate universe in Star Wars.

Father and Son of the Suns, which diverges at Revenge of the Sith just before Anakin would've betrayed Mace Windu and joins Sidious. Goes right along the same timeframe to alternate versions of the classic trilogy story. Everything I've posted up and commissioned artwork for is at the link below:

Pretty cool how you reshaped the super laser into the symbol of the Galactic Empire.

I think I'd have moved the superlaser to the rim (ala the original SW concept), but this is cool nevertheless.  I love the city structures at the poles!  :)

On a separate note:  I find it hard to envisage the Galactic Dominion emerging from the CIS - mostly because the Empire was staunchly xenophobic having arisen from the post-war Republic, and with the same key figures (eg Tarkin) involved here, it would seem those same anti-alien biases should be present in this Empire-substitute also.

Is your CIS still mostly alien/battledroid, or have you changed things up to make it human-centric (eg Mandalore, Kuat, etc)?

Of course, a true *clone* war, with the CIS using humanoid clones vs the Republic's multi-species versions, would I think make for an easier evolution into new factions... Just an idea though! ;)

May be instead of doing a death star with a hexagon super laser, why no do a dodecahedron with a hexagon super laser?

The alternate setting still incorporates that the Geonosians started building the Death Star, but continued because the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire never occurred. So it wouldn't differ quite so much that they would change its shape, at least not in my opinion.

Very true, if you look at their architecture it does have plenty of circular and round components. I just thought it would look awesome as an alternative design.
