Background:
In a galaxy spared of a darker form of tyranny, Han Solo was a clever young orphan that made his way prowling the streets of Coronet City. To most, he was an undisciplined ruffian. But to people who knew him, he was a scoundrel with a heart of gold, and often went out of his way to help those in need. After saving their youngest son from cutthroats in Treasure Ship Row, a Wookiee family took him in and raised him alongside their own children.

Meltowbuck enrolled Han in primary school, recognizing his need for a formal education to propel him forward and shave down the rough edges of Han’s character marked by his life on Coronet City’s streets. Han’s wild streak remained manifest, but he took a strong liking to learning about space travel and the galaxy at large. While some subjects floundered, no one could deny Han’s passion for the stars, and he excelled at those courses.

Reaching senior high school, Han was ready for his graduation exams, and by luck (or perhaps fate), the Corellian Senator to the Republic had chosen his class to review. Impressed with Han’s performance and solid grasp of astrospatial principles, Senator Garm Bel Iblis recommended Han for sponsorship into the Republic Academy. With Senator Iblis’s approval, Han was enrolled and relocated to the campus on Carida.

Han’s penchant for mischief was unparalleled, receiving disciplinary action from the Commandant and the Head Master numerable times. A prank formulated by Han and Mako Spince resulted in the destruction of the Mascot Moon, which ended Spince’s academy stint and nearly finished Han’s as well. But with such talent and high marks, he graduated with honors, and was commissioned into the Republic Starfighter Corps.

In spite of his talent, Han often rankled his superior officers, who were unnerved by his fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants style. But one particular sortie during the aftermath of the Clone Wars, amidst the five-year cessation of hostilities between the Republic and the Confederacy would force Han into a different (and less than admirable) career path… but earn him a lifelong friend. Trandoshan slavers, under guise of a Confederate picket ship, assaulted a personal Wookiee transport, claiming that it had violated a no-fly zone. Recognizing that particular type of vessel, Han personally repelled the slave ship and saved the Wookiee vessel. His superiors claimed that without proper evidence, Han had possibly violated the ceasefire accords… an act that could cost him his career.

Instead, Han was permanently-transferred from the Starfighter Corps into the Courier Service, often considered a career death sentence. But Chewbacca, the head of the Wookiee family of whom he had saved, swore a life debt to him and vowed to go with Han wherever his assignments would take him. Over the years, Han would purchase a ship of his own, which became both his home and his key to the stars.

As fate would have, Han and Chewbacca’s journeys have taken them from one side of the galaxy to the other. And true to Han’s temperament, they have been riddled with danger and excitement. Their latest assignment would take them to the far-flung Tatooine, to meet with some very special passengers…
