Quicksilver Industries: 'Scimitar' DMR/BR by Shockwave9001 Quicksilver Industries: 'Scimitar' DMR/BR by Shockwave9001
Quicksilver Industries is proud to present a weapon on the market in a class QS doesn't really do much for: the designated marksman rifle.
This beast is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, but is equipped with the completely new Quicksilver Ind. Patented "Serval" Sabot ® cartridge. This round is yet to be released to the public, but testing is finished.
It features a full-length top rail, triple railed handguard, adjustable stockpad, rail mountable handguard, monopod, and last but not least; the all-new Flip Up Red Dot Sight, or FURDS® for short.

As per usual, everything is completely ambidextrous:
- The charging handle is located on both sides (non-reciprocating)
- The bolt release catch is located on the magazine well on both sides
- The magazine release catch is located above the trigger guard on both sides
- The fire selector is on both sides as well
- The shells eject on the front of the rifle, below the barrel

Quicksilver Ind. produces top of the notch firearms made for easy and cheap mass production, while maintaining very high quality. Our firearms will always be fully ambidextrous, two toned, operator-friendly and accessory-friendly.

Please criticise, and I hope you like it!

Yours truly,
~ Shockwave

Glad you made it and if Quicksilver was a real company I'm sure they would put H&K Colt and Sig Sauer and basically every other firearms companies to shame

This thing was a huge inspiration to me when making the Chinook rifle... like how you used a rifle stock as the upper receiver. Granted, my gun came out looking a lot more Halo or Imperium of Man than yours... =D

NOTE: I'm not shamelessly self-promoting myself... on purpose anyway. Honestly, I just wanted to thank a great PMG user for inspiring someone who works better with a pencil (That's me) =D

I still can't see exactly where the shells eject from in the front. Does that mean that it carries the spent shell all the way forward of the trigger?

You're right. Shells eject below the barrel (where the little red triangle is)

But then what mechanism pulls the shells out that far? Most ejectors are right by the chamber because the gas funneled back blows back the receiver and kicks the shell out that way, but I just can't see the mechanism for pulling a shell out to the front, unless it would be a personal mass drive/railgun and the "shells" are sabots that detach and fall out the bottom.

I've built this with the F2000 mechanism in my mind.
To be fairly honest with you, I went more for form over function on this one.

i cannot believe it! you read my mind and stole my ideas!
i had been thinking about flip-up RDSs last year... i even made a cardboard replica gun with one.
anyways, a very nice weapon. i just can't believe how you do these things with PMG.
though i see a few technical issues (i understand you're an artist though, and the artistic part is just perfect). i'm afraid the bolt won't have enough room to cycle, and even if it does then there won't be any space left for the return spring, though i imagine you could get away with saying the action is similar to the one of the TKB-022pm. and why a red dot sight in a DMR? you should be using an ACOG-level magnification scope at least (i think, anyways. i might be wrong).
don't get me wrong, it is an awesome weapon.

Haha, you're absolutely right actually! With the red dot on it it's more like a battle rifle than a DMR. I'll change the name real quick haha :D
And you're right again about the bolt. It's an issue I acknowledged at a very early stage of this thing (see my previous upload), but I didn't want to change how it looked, nor didn't I want to make the weapon any longer (from pistol grip to butt-pad is as long as an M16A1 stock).
So I went for the form-over-function approach. Same with the forward ejection, I highly doubt all the internals would fit, but ah well. It looks good, haha!

Thanks a lot for the feedback, man. I really appreciate it.

well, everything you need to turn it into a DMR is a bipod and a scope. there you go, a badass DMR.
yeah, form over function. i don't like to do so but sometimes the weapon just looks so beautiful that you say to yourself, "no, i won't change this. screw the internals". i do that sometimes as well =P
