I'm a night owl.
I inherit it from my mama, while my dad passed his early birdness on to my sister.
So I stay up til about midnight during the week.

Something odd has been occurring recently.
I've been falling asleep in class.

Never for more than 5 minutes, I happen to doze in and out, especially when taking notes or drawing.
My vision blurs, my head tilts. I slip put of my supporting hand and scare myself awake.
This only happens in two of the three classes I have a day.

(monday=all 6 periods, tuesday-friday=3 periods a day) (tuesday, thursday = periods 1,3,5) (wed., fri. = periods 2,4,6)
3rd and 4th period are art classes. I don't fall asleep in those ones.
I only doze (and I SWEAR TO GOD, it's triggered by boredom) when a teacher is lecturing...
Which happens in the first AND LAST class of the day.

It's very strange... No one makes coffee in the morning, and I don't know any way to keep myself alert in the morning... any tips..?

Cold showers help and at my school there is barely any heating so the shivering keeps me from falling asleep. lol

Its probably Bueler syndrome, the teacher probably talks in a droll monotone voice yes? Bring a water bottle to class that is Ice cold and when you first feel drowzy place it up against your cheek lol This kept me awake in one class Do not try closeing one eye and "cat napping" because the other WILL close!

Perhaps you can try stopping by at Starbucks for coffee? Or get some nutrition that will help you stay awake, like fruits and vegetables. Get some vitamins and minerals in your system.
Also, you can try jogging in the morning, that way, you're awake when you go into your first class.

this is what i had to deal with.. try to either have a drink before class.. or something warm.. it worked for me for a few months.. but then my body got used to it..

I do EXACTLY the same thing in class while my teacher is lecturing. I am also a Night Owl but I do not know how to get rid of dozing off in class and I dont like coffee. I would help if I knew a way!
