Import Information Guide

Wed Jul 20, 2016, 6:58 PM by tulua:icontulua:

WELCOME TO THE IMPORT INFORMATION GUIDE!

Below you will find a detailed guide on how to set up your Shivali's Import Information correctly, If you have any questions do not hesitate to comment on this journal and we will happily assist. Firstly we will cycle through a lot of the most common questions and then we will provide the blank import sheet for you to fill out. Below the empty import sheet will be a step by step guide to filling the sheet out correctly, please be patient and thorough while following along.

What is an Import?

An Import is what we call the lines used to color your Shi'vali.
Official Hinshu Shivali Base // Official Feral Shivali Base // Official Ko'kumai Shi'vali Base

You can find a downloadable collection of ALL of our imports, including Rag'Oran,  HERE

What is Import Information?

Your Shivali's Import Information is a complete breakdown of each individual Shivali's details, these details are placed in the artist's comments and visible to guests or other members who stumble upon the deviation.

Do I remove the 'LEAVE BLANK' area's on the Import sheet?

The 'LEAVE BLANK' text requests you leave those specific lines empty (IE. remove 'LEAVE BLANK'), we will not send you to corrections if it still says 'LEAVE BLANK' but removing the text will save the uploader some time, however that being said if you do put other information in those columns you will be sent to corrections.

My Shivali hit corrections, now what do I do?

If your Shivali hit corrections the admin who looked over the design will have replied to the sta.sh file to explain why your Shivali needs edits. Shivali is a closed species and it follows a very specific guide of creation, if you are confused about what changes are being asked of you simply reply to that very same admin for clarification, they will be happy to help!

Tip** (The Genetics and Mutations guide has a detailed break down of what is allowed with each available gene!)

FILLING OUT YOUR IMPORT INFORMATION

Now we are ready to fill in the details, be sure to double check your information for mistakes.

Name:

Please provide the chosen name for your Shi'vali.

Nickname(s):

If your Shi'vali has any nicknames, this is where you can put them. If it does not have any nicknames, you can simply leave it blank or put N/A.

ID:

Leave this blank, it will be filled in by an admin before your import is uploaded. (Remove the 'LEAVE BLANK' text)

Owner:

Please provide your deviantart username here, you can place an @ before your name (IE. name) to make it link to your profile, and so it will update you when your Shivali is officially uploaded.

Gender:

Please put the gender your Shi'vali was given when you received your geno here.

Age:

This is where you write the age of your Shivali, the age is completely up to you, maybe they are 2 years old or maybe they are old and wise leaving the Shivali at 125 years old.

Species:

Please leave the text "Shi'vali" here.

Build:

Please write either Hinshu, Ko'Kumai, Yase, Yana, Yanin, Yemashi (for Feral) or Mittsu, Futatsu, Hitotsu (for Rag'Oran).
(Your geno will provide this information.)

Attributes:

Under Mane, Ears, and Tail write each Physical Attribute your Shi'vali has. If you are unsure of what your Shi'vali has, please refer to the Physical Attributes and Physical Mutations journal and compare your geno.
(Your geno will provide this information.)

Physical Mutation:

If your Shi'vali has a physical mutation, please write it here. If you are unsure of if your Shi'vali has any physical mutations, please refer to the Physical Attributes and Physical Mutations journal and compare your geno.
(Your geno will provide this information.)

Genotype:

This is the strand of information that consists of the genes of your Shi'vali, which are the mixture of letters you received with your roll(s).

Phenotype:

This is the explanation of markings you recieved with your roll(s), which instead of the mixture of letters, is an actual description of your Shi'vali's traits.

Health Status:

This can be completely up to you to have fun with- however, if your Shi'vali is inbred, you must list it as such and it's deformities. Please also include your Shi'vali's Height and Weight in this area. You can reference This Guide for height and weight info!
Example of Inbred penalties:
[Inbred] Brachycephalic
[Inbred] Spinal Deformities
These do come with consequences and restrictions in things like breeding, H/F/T, and other activities.

Ceremony of Unity:

Please leave this section empty. This is for later when you complete the prompts that can be found here.

Imperial Status:

Please leave this as Novice.

Level:

This refers to the H/F/T level your Shi'vali is! Please leave this number as 1. This is the level all Shi'vali start out as upon upload to Lorekeeper.

Personality: Thumb by Shivali-Lorekeeper

This is where you can write a short, or long, personality description for your Shi'vali, if you so wish to. It's personality is up to you entirely however we request you do not include the Shivali's entire history and keep any information provided about the Shivali's personality specifically. We encourage in depth personality's while you shape your Shivali and make it your own but we will ask you reduce the description to a reasonable amount of words if it seems unreasonable.

Accessories: Thumb by Shivali-Lorekeeper

This is where you will have all physical import additions (Decor/Accessories/etc) listed. It will be added as you update your Import accordingly. This will also serve as a place to store old/inactive Titles for your Shi'vali.

Gear: Thumb by Shivali-Lorekeeper

This is for item applications such as companions or tack that can be used toward different activities.

Lineage:

If your Shi'vali was bred, you will need to fill in it's lineage. Under Sire you put the father's Import Sheet, and under Dam you put the mother's Import Sheet.
Under SS (Sire's Sire) place the father's father's Import Sheet, and under SD place the father's mother's Import Sheet.
Do the same for the Mother's under DS and DD.
If your Shi'vali's grandparents have parents, place them under SSS/SSD and SDS/SDD for each.

For example, lets say your Shivali's parents were:

Because both of these Shivali are Royals you would leave the rest of the lineage 'Unknown'.

                   Sire          -          Dam
Dojini 013 by Shivali-Lorekeeper x  Chernobyl 003 by Shivali-Lorekeeper

Your Lineage should now look like the following:

Lineage:
------------------------------------------ SSS: Unknown
----------------- SS: Unknown
------------------------------------------ SSD: Unknown
Sire: Dojini 013
------------------------------------------ SDS: Unknown
----------------- SD: Unknown
------------------------------------------ SDD: Unknown
------------------------------------------ DSS: Unknown
----------------- DS: Unknown
------------------------------------------ DSD: Unknown
Dam: Chernobyl 003
------------------------------------------ DDS: Unknown
----------------- DD: Unknown
------------------------------------------ DDD: Unknown

However lets say for example your Shivali's parents were:

                   Sire          -          Dam
Nianzu 112 by Shivali-Lorekeeper x  Cinnabon 097 by Shivali-Lorekeeper

Your Lineage should now look like the following:

------------------------------------------ SSS: Unknown
----------------- SS: Dojini 013
------------------------------------------ SSD: Unknown
Sire: Nianzu 112
------------------------------------------ SDS: Unknown
----------------- SD: Chernobyl 003
------------------------------------------ SDD: Unknown
------------------------------------------ DSS: Unknown
----------------- DS: Kaabo 60
------------------------------------------ DSD: Unknown
Dam: Cinnabon 097
------------------------------------------ DDS: Unknown
----------------- DD: Onyxia 025
------------------------------------------ DDD: Unknown

SETTING A LINEAGE MAY SEEM CONFUSING AT FIRST BUT ITS BEST TO BREAK IT DOWN - FOR EXAMPLE:

For the sake of learning lets pretend your Shivali geno has a name already, you named him 'Teddy'. We would follow the same with Teddy's mom as we did his dad, replacing the 'Unknown' text with the import link to the necessary Shivali. If Teddy's mommy doesn't know who her parents were and on her import sheet it says 'Unknown' we leave the 'Unknown' text alone and offer her a hug.

Lineage:
------------------------------------------ GRANDPA'S DAD: NAME ###
----------------- Sire's DAD (Teddy's Grandpa): NAME ###
------------------------------------------ GRANDPA'S MOM: NAME ###
Teddy's DAD: NAME ###
------------------------------------------ GRANDMA'S DAD: NAME ###
----------------- Dad's MOM (Teddy's Grandma): NAME ###
------------------------------------------ GRANDMA'S MOM: NAME ###
------------------------------------------ DSS: Unknown
----------------- DS: Unknown
------------------------------------------ DSD: Unknown
Teddy's MOM: Unknown
------------------------------------------ DDS: Unknown
----------------- DD: Unknown
------------------------------------------ DDD: Unknown

Design (c)

Please credit the designer of your Shi'vali (whether it is you or another member of deviantart). Your Shi cannot be uploaded without proper credit!

For example if your design was created by tulua it would appear on the very bottom of your import information as follows:
Design (c) tulua

THAT CONCLUDES OUR IMPORT INFORMATION GUIDE, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ASK THEM BELOW.

I'm new and I'm wondering what's the difference between the feral builds? They use the same base, and everywhere they are just referred as "feral". I couldn't find why they have different names.

In order, Yase, Yana, Yanin, and Yemashi refer to the 'purity' of their feral blood- Yase being the closest to domesticated, and Yemashi closest to their Rag'Oran heritage. Generally the higher the content or purity, the more worth the feral has in breeding. Aside from that, it can also be used in your Shi's personal lore.

So I'm super new around here so probably expect lots of questions from me, but are we allowed to use the files in the 'ORIGINAL BASES' folder in the Google Drive? The geno I was looking at has a lion tail, which looks better in the original base :'D

You are welcome to use the old or new bases! Likewise, you are able to use old style ears and tails on the new base, and vise versa. Manes can also be used, though they will require editing to fit the bases properly; which would need a Shipoo item from the marketplace.

By move do you mean open the files? Ensure they aren't zipped in a folder in order to open them. I'm not entirely sure what the problem you're describing is D:

I mean move as in importing the import into an app to place the designs on it. There was only a Psn or Psd(I think... forgot what type of template it is) that opened up, and I couldn't move it into an art app at all. The actual link to opening the file was also not there, so I couldn't directly open sai to import the files there. Sorry if this makes no sense at all, I've tried to explain the best I can. This is why I've been trying to ask and look around to see if people were willing to take art as payment to help me create the designs. ^^;

SAI can open and edit psd files!  Just open the psd as you would any other type of file with sai. The layers are sorted in folders for ease of organization

Never been able to figure out which Geno is recessive.
Looked around on the designing guides but couldn't find it

Dominant vs Recessive/Standard is found in the genotype, take underside for example- nUs is standard, where dominant is UsUs. Not all markings are visually different if they are dominant, but can be distinguished by the abbreviations which can be found on the genetics page.

Okay I mite need help designing my shivali. I am new to all of this so sorry in advance. Also after I am done designing my shivali where do I post to get the design approved? I thought I saw this info but now I seem to have gone blind and cant find it.

Okay so I have another question just going to add it onto this one.
Is there a base that is just white? When I try to color the grey one the colors appear darker and out of place. The software I use is manga studio 5.

You can find the link to the monthly design approval journal on the front page of the group.

Ideally you should be making a new layer and clipping it to the base layer, then coloring on the clipped layer. If manga studio cannot make clipping masks, lock opacity on the base layer, and color over it with white.

I figured it out. I was multiply wen I should have been using overlay. Manga studio is kinda like Sai but it doesn't offer everything to top it off, its very flacky you can say. After two years I am still learning new things about it. Thank you for your help anyway. Greatly appreciate it.

Under the Ceremony part of the forum, do we put our selected path or,leave it blank? Also, how do you find a Shi's age and should an inventory journal be made for inventory?

Would I be allowed to mention the breeder as well behind my name as owner? It's because she gifted it to me because I'm a newbie, so I want to give her some credit for the Shi if allowed :)

Only the individual owner of the Shi'vali should go in the owner field- if you put an additional username there we will recognize that shi as being co-owned by two people. To avoid this issue, you may add the breeder somewhere in the personality of the Shi, if you so wish.

So, I adopted a cub ln the November cub adoption center yesterday! This is my first ever shivali cub and I wanna design him myself so I can get used to it! If I got the cub, would someone be responsible of designing him? Or would I? When I read these genotypes: Iv/Um/onx/gal/nPg
I didn't know what to do or how the colors or designs would come out to be.Can you help me? I really wanna understand this ;;

this might seem like a silly question, but is there a specific way to upload the import, or could I just upload it to my sta.sh?
Also, what do I do after I upload it (do I share it with some one, or comment in the import fixes)?
