Breeding Guide (Breakdown)

B R E E D I N G

In Shi'vali Empire, players may breed their Shi'vali once they have completed their Ceremony of Unity. Once a Shi'vali is eligible to breed, the player can pair their Shi'vali with other compatible Shi'vali to create a litter of cubs! These cubs can inherit any number of genes from either parent, and often times they emerge with MUTATIONS!

Inbreeding in Shi'Vali Empire, while not discouraged, does come with some serious risks to consider. Several deformities along with an 'Inbred' health status effect game play, and any potential cubs those Shi'Vali may create!

Each user may breed a total of 3 times in any given monthly journal. Breedings with and between ROYALS do not count towards this limit!

BREEDING YOUR SHI'VALI

The size of a litter is determined by two statistics of the parent Shi'Vali; Imperial Status, and Breed. Please use the breakdown provided below to determine the number of offspring you can expect in your breeding!

KNOW THE RISK.

Inbreeding, while not discouraged, is penalizedYou run the risk of having defective cubs , or even stillborn.

But what is inbreeding?

When breeding two Shi'Vali, you always look at their lineage. If there is a shared predecessor in both lineages, it is inbreeding. The ONLY exception to this, is if the shared predecessor is in the last tier of BOTH Shi'Vali's lineage, bumping him/her COMPLETELY out of the cubs lineage. If it would bump the predecessor out of only one side of the cub's lineage tree, IT IS STILL CONSIDERED INBREEDING.

Birth defects your cubs could develop from inbreeding include:

- Brachycephalic (cannot hunt/fish or traverse)
- Blind [-10% in activities]
- Spinal Deformities [-10% in activities]
- Infertile [Inability to breed]
- Stillborn [This shi is deceased, and cannot be uploaded or otherwise used]

In addition, your lineage will appear as inbred, and will reflect as such in health conditions-- This carries a chance of impacting the shi'vali's potential cubs. Inbreed at your own risk!!

You may want to add about how the tickets need to be used. I breed a ragoran to a feral before. Without having to use the tickets. Now I had to send a breeding to corrections because I did not have a ticket applied.

So clarification on usage would be great.

could you link me the breeding where you didn't have to use a ticket? that was a mistake. the uses are stated in the marketplace, above the price of the ticket.

"RAG'ORAN FERTILITY TICKET
A pass to have a female Rag'oran artificially inseminated, or have a strand taken from the male Rag'oran to impregnate the female of another breed.
Not required for Rag'oran x Rag'oran pairings.
x1 Use
PRICE: 2,000 Jining"

so, in other words, any ragoran x non-ragoran pairing will require a ticket.

The breeding comments.deviantart.com/1/6665….

It was not clear to my understanding that you have to have it. So I was going off of the breeding guide and it does not talk about them. Unless I am missed it. Sorry just trying to make sure I am understanding.

Also if needed you can take the jinings out of my vault to cover the missed ticket. For the one breeding.

When breeding Rag'orans, are the cubs always going to be rag'orans if both parents are no matter what kind of Rag'oran they are? (Silly question but I need to make sure)

When Breeding two rags together, you have the chance for hinshus, ferals, as well as rags.

Hello there! I have a quick question on EMTs that I'd love to get cleared up on :'D

I recall reading a long time ago in one of the guides that uncommon/rare EMTs are randomly produced in any breeding, and a parent/or both parents having uncommon/rare EMTs do not in fact affect the chances of those EMTs passing down. I cannot find this info anymore, but I know I read this during the very early days of the group's starting out. I was playing with the breeding-roller on the main page, and realized that EMTs are listed in the details required for rolling.

Am I right to assume that this has changed, and that they do pass down now?

We have never had a rule that you could randomly produce a rare tail from two uncommon parents :) the tier of rarity has always affected the passing rate, which is why they are tiered to begin with! You might be confused with the rule that if you have, for example, a rare tail x rare tail, you can produce either a rare tail, uncommon tail, or standard tail

Eh? I was so sure I read it somewhere LOL
I must have been confused with another ARPG. My bad. Thank you for clearing this confusion of mine x'D

Hi c:

I'm completely new to Shivali, But I have a question:
For breeding, if you buy, win, or otherwise obtain a Shivali's breeding slot, do you have to breed it with your own Shivali, or can you apply it with another slot you've obtained of a different Shivali of the opposite gender? (Of course within the peramiters granted by each of the owners like the inbreeding thingy o uo)

You do not need to used obtained slots on your own personal Shi'vali! You may use them in conjunction with any other slots you may have c:

Have a question regarding doms.

Played with the roller earlier.  Was fortunate in rolling a dom Galaxy however when testing rolls the amount galaxy passing vs the other base coats seems to be the same as a non dom base.  Did a bunch of runs and non dom against an umber base and galaxy was passing every 10 or so rolls.  Dom gal against an umber was doing the same average.

Messed with other dom coats.  Dom umber seemed to always pass umber.  Dom Ivory didn't always pass Iv.  And dom Onyx and dom Galaxy passed very little against the other coats.  Was curious if this is working as intended as the only one that seemed to have any noticeable effect as a dom base was Umber.

UM x Iv breedings seem broken.
Played with a dom UM x Iv.  Every offspring came out Iv/UM (dom umber).  Used against other bases and it came out recessive umber on every child but for some reason paired against an ivory, dom umber breedings shows offspring receive the dom.

So as things stand-

Dominant bases/markings do not necessarily guarantee passing the gene, they only provide an increased chance to pass it. We are not able to disclose the size of said increase, but it is present. Common genes are called common for a reason, and the same goes when talking about uncommon and rare ones. Sometimes the roller is more generous than others, but please be assured that the results you get are usually what we intended for it to produce.

The UM x Iv bug however is being looked into, as there may have been something missed in the coding.

That's what I was curious about thank you.  Was just an odd coincidence that 100 rolls of dom and non dom of each came out with the same average passing rate.  (And after seeing the UM x Iv wanted to make sure)

So you can only breed three times a month, but is there a limit to these slots?
