Well then! I don't post enough to have a journal that's really about anything, so you can just assume I sit around all day writing and arting and watching stuff, but rarely finishing anything. Despite my attempts to change and not quit any given piece, I'm still a terrible slacker and my own worst enemy. I don't like to post stuff on DA that isn't finished or of decent quality, and since I rarely finish things, that means I also rarely post. Vicious cycle. I finally posted some new work!Somebody who got a DD on here some time ago had a whole slew of regular entries for the Character of the Week contest on conceptart.org. I was pretty envious, because they were good pictures, and because that was always one of those websites that made me feel inadequate as an artist, especially one who went to school and has a degree and is not doing art professionally. Eventually, I was bored and decided to see what all of that fuss was about.It was a Monday, and the new contests post on Sundays each week or so, and I had plenty of time. It was really challenging, and I still have to be careful not to strain...

Well, I submitted something. It's the first thing I've managed to color in a while. I am never short on ideas, but many sit at the 'lame sketch' stage for months or years, until they're so bad that I just have to start over. Sometimes I stop at the lineart, since I can't ever decide these days whether I can live without lines or not, and then I get mad at my lines for being bad. A few make it to huge swathes of background color and a huge file size, waiting for the effort I fail to put in.I often just move on. If I make something, it's better than nothing, right? So, everyday, new file, more sketches. I made one earlier today that I like. ...
