A God's Sorrow

A God’s Sorrow...

“Being forgotten ain't no surprise.”
His last glare was a disguise.
Hiding his feelings just to be okay,
He secretly cries all night and day.
Melancholy fills his mind ‘bout the old days,
Still loving her in so many ways...
Even though distance’s keeping them apart,
He still gave her a piece of his broken heart…
Letting be controlled by his sorrow,
His demons gather up to follow.
Without her he lays helpless in his pain,
Screaming her name, but all in vein…
Giving his own soul to bring her back,
His eyes, filled with tears, turn jet - black.
Slowly falling lifeless on the floor,
Though her eyes won’t open anymore...
“How can sorrow still exist;
When I, myself am deceased?
Does it reside in my memories or in thin air?
Or is it the smell and the touch of her hair?”
“Oh, I wish for a moment of serenity,
I now know, I’m cursed to wander to eternity

~One of those days.
A good morning starts with a gentle kiss, while you're still asleep.
A good morning is when you remember your favorite mug and you're already filling it with warm coffee before you even think of it.
A good morning happens when you don't expect it to happen.
A good morning exists to remind you to love the little things in life, like the morning breeze on your face, the sleepy smile of a stranger that walked by you and your dog, or the long forgotten joy of being alone and enjoying yourself.
A good morning can be appreciated at its fullest by moody people, like us, just because it's the change of pace we needed all along.
A good morning  can't be spoiled, ruined or overlooked.
A good morning emerges from the heart of each person experiencing it.
A good morning is about having the courage to get out of your bed.
A good morning is definitely not a certain morning.
A good morning is one of those days you want to be alive.

I'm a computer engineering student that really went wrong, cause I have a flaming passion for sketching, drawing, crafting various stuff and generally being positive -plus always trying to be- creative! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Probably at nights you'll find me writing weird stuff or drawing manically listening to doom metal... There happens my best of work! I don't even know how... ヽ(*・ω・)ノ♪

Huge thanks and feedback. ^_^

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 7, 2014, 7:29 AM

I would like to thank everyone for their amazing feedback on my latest assignment about various perspectives on world making, and specifically on my creation:  "A world made of overlapping realities.".
Here is the feedback I got from the three peers that evaluated my assignment, with thoughtful critique and -oh yeah- a passing grade!

"In the following three sections you will provide qualitative (written) feedback on the student's submission. Please provide feedback in every field as marked; note there are minimum word counts for all required fields but the expectation is that you are considering each student's work thoughtfully and carefully. You are not evaluating the work based on its artistic merit or effort; please be as objective as possible while still offering thoughtful and constructive comments.
Look at the student’s submission. Don’t respond immediately. Give yourself at least a few minutes to really look or study what the student has submitted.  In the space below, write exactly what you see in the student’s assignment."
  • peer 1 → It's an amazing synthesis of the perspective for a complex world. All starts through a big window which saw us those different perspectives of life. A huge clock and two TV sets are more easily visible while there are many other details such as a camera, three women figures, animals, a balloon, flowers, money, a telephone booth , a hat and a skull , books and buggages.
  • peer 2 → I see a window into a diverse fantastic world filled with different subjects of life; books, television, time, travel, love, magic, animals, photography, money and food framed by lush plants and a woman with a speech bubble saying "I can't believe it's Monday already..." giving associations to a mundane everyday life.
  • peer 3 → A see an open window into a surreal and always changing world. There's bushes and nature outside the window and inside there's a tiled floor with a blue sky background which helps give it a surreal feel. There are three girls in the picture and some animals, rabbits and birds. There's also some objects such as a TV, suitcases, a hot air balloon, binoculars, Starbucks coffee, a clock, among others. The title 'Dreams at the top presents the picture almost like an old classic painting would with a banner type heading.

"In the space below, answer at least one of the following:
  • What is one thing about the submission that immediately caught your attention?
  • What is one thing about the submission that took you a little longer to discover?
  • What are three questions you would ask this student about their submission?"
  • peer 1 → The first things that caught my attention was the two TV's and the big clock. One thing that took me more to discover was the skull. My first question would be why did you use a Starbucks coffee cup? My second question would be why did you use two TV sets? And my third question would be why did you choose to put the woman figure which shows her brain?
  • peer 2 → The center of the image was what caught my attention at first, the girl crawling out of the television frame. The closer I looked the more elements I discovered, both obvious and hidden such as the English phone booth, and buses behind the window glass, and the moneybag and the skull. I'd like to know what the girl crawling out of the television is representative of, she caught my attention. I also get a feeling that the artist has a special relationship to England and France? I also would love to know whether the artist is an introvert, because this piece gives me associations to a fantastical world that exists in each and every one of us, and is sometimes more easily accessed by introverts.
  • peer 3 → I think most thinks about it catch my attention and make me want to look further into the picture. There seems to be a lot of hidden messages that are probably relevant to the artist. I love the overall style of the picture, the blend of old and new and the perspective as a viewer of being outside the window, looking in, it's almost voyeuristic, like you're looking into someone's private little world.

"In the space below, discuss how the student’s submission is framed. How does the convention of photography adjust your perception of their assembled objects?"
  • peer 1 → Excellent presentation of life perspectives, from life to death , from clock and stress of the day and week to peacefulness of dreams. From nature and trips to a nice coffee time reading a book. From TV invasion to our life to taking photos with a camera to an unknown place. Well done!
  • peer 2 → The submission is framed in such a way that it's perceived to be a magical world accessed through books, movies, photography or imagination. It also seems to me that the whole image in itself could be a television screen because of the darker edges, adding even more complexity to the image. I think it would be quite challenging to assemble all the different objects in this image manually and then photographing it, than combining them all in Photoshop. It perhaps makes it easier to manifest the supernatural images of the mind.
  • peer 3 → The framing is so important in this piece, the window uses perspective to draw the viewer in and invite them to this dream world. I like the way the window itself is also frames by the use of the figure outside and the traces of nature and the Polaroids. It's composition is very inviting to the eye and it's a well executed box-of-thoughts!
