Turbine-Electric Vessel Jonathan Wheeler

This is the TEV Jonathan Wheeler. This Canadian ship of my own design measures 786 feet long, and is named after Proton Jon, who functions as Player 3 of The Runaway Guys.

Launched on September 26th, 2007, the TEV Jonathan Wheeler spent her early career operating between the Newfoundland capital of St. John's and Le Havre, with her success encouraging a wave of other single-ship owners to follow her example, and on December 2nd, 2010, her owner partnered up with those of the MV Emiliano Rosales-Birou and the GTS Timothy Bishop to form the Runaway Line. After nearly two months of working out its logistics, the new company began operations when the Jonathan Wheeler departed Baltimore for Southampton via Le Havre on February 5th, 2011. As the company expanded and acquired more vessels, the Jonathan Wheeler inaugurated the company’s Canadian service when she departed Quebec City for Southampton via Le Havre on the 10th of March, 2012.

The Jonathan Wheeler's crew are noted for having some of the greatest skill among any in the company’s fleet, perhaps as a means of compensating for a certain bad luck that has plagued the ship her entire career, often in the form of the ship suffering otherwise minor electrical failures and glitches in her computers at inopportune moments, which has also resulted in the ship cultivating a collection of redundant components more extensive than any of her fleetmates.

In early 2025, the Jonathan Wheeler received an unusual refit: She reentered passenger service as an armed merchant cruiser, a conversion that has inexplicably garnered widespread praise despite the numerous and long-established differences in design that work at cross-purposes with the function of an ocean liner. The reasons for this conversion are presently unknown, though theories include an extreme attempt to remedy her electrical issues and it being in response to falling passenger numbers after she relayed misinformation on the Emiliano Rosales-Birou the previous January. Whatever the reason, numerous company records have strangely been altered to refer to the Jonathan Wheeler as though she were always an armed merchant cruiser, and some crew members have even alleged to have faced pressure upon questioning these decisions. Only time will tell where these concerns will lead.
