Steamship Sudrian

This is Daniel Huffman, and just remember, judging people based on their interests is like judging a book on its cover.

This is the SS Sudrian. She measures 730 feet long, and is named after the Island of Sodor, the setting of Reverend Wilbert Awdry’s The Railway Series, (Whose first book was published on May 12, 1945) as well as its television adaptation, Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. (What a mouthful of a title) The Sudrian is based on the White Star Line’s Jubilee-class ocean liners, named for their construction coinciding with the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. For all intents and purposes, the Sudrian should be treated as a fictional ship of the Leyland Line, hence the “-ian” suffix and funnel livery.
