Motor Ship Portia

This is the MS Portia. She is an American cargo ship measuring 316 feet in length, and is named after one of the inner moons of Uranus, which was discovered by Voyager 2 scientist Stephen P. Synnott on January 3rd, 1986. The Portia and her five sister ships are modeled after the Type C1-MT-BU1, a quartet of lumber-carrying cargo ships designed for the United States Maritime Commission.
