Ooo... I found this completely by accident, but it's so helpful to see! I've been trying to find a good way to make Ventus's (Kingdom Hearts) shoes, but I really didn't like the other tutorials for his shoes out there. I was actually thinking something involving craftfoam, but couldn't get much further than that... This is perfect!

Wow, these look really good.
I started playing LoL somewhere last week and Vi was a free character and I have just fallen in love with her... so naturally I want to cosplay her at some point haha. This gives me a really good idea of what to do with the shoes.
How do you plan on handling the arms and such? Personally I would love to use papercraft, to get it in full detail, but I have never worked with that before (you have to import the model in one program, then edit it so it will actually work as a paper model, then make it printable....) it's going to be a lot of work! I want to make the fingers out of foam though, so that if I 'punch' things there won't be any dents. I'm still thinking about what to cover the paper (or cardboard really) with to make it harder.
I'd love to hear your approach

Great, I'm looking forward to it
In the meantime I also decided to make them out of foam (with latex on top and a core) so I can actually 'punch' people with them haha.
I'm working on gathering some random accessories and such first, because I have several other projects to finish before I can start ^^

So... You mentioned mixing latex with acrylics... And I was wondering... What kind of latex have you used so far? (what brand?)
Dunno, if you remember me, but I was also in the EuroCosplay with you, in the Haven Trooper cosplay.
And yeah... I have pretty bad expirence with foam shoes and acrylics. -.-'
