I can say with 98 percent certainty, give or take 2 percent, that John has gone mental. This is an unusual turn of events, considering that the accusations usually go the other way around, but I can think of no more suitable way to phrase it. John has always posed himself as rather simple and straightforward and ordinary in nature, which is generally true in situations common to most people (I would say "day-to-day" situations, but I suspect that word means something very different to John and I than it does to most). He wears jumpers and he knows who the Prime Minister is and the most complicated meal he ever cooks comes from a box. The l

John looked over his shoulder once more at the police. They'd paid him no mind; he was just another pedestrian in the crowd that had gathered, if one who had taken a closer look at the woman than most of them. Right, the Tesco would be just a few streets down. John arrived there with little other than a few glances from some rather posh individuals who seemed to be questioning his fashion sense. Not that that was terribly out of the norm; he was used the occasional withering look from Sherlock when he donned some of his favorite jumpers. It began like a bad movie: Thunderstorm. Junk yard. Desperate man. Because John was desperate. He was, apparently, desperate enough to take on a case, after spending the past eight months turning others down as politely as he could. ("I just can't see things like he does—did. Nobody could. I'm sorry.") He was desperate enough that, "Andrew disappeared in a machine and never came back," sounded interesting. Or maybe: he was desperate enough that if the bloke who'd come in stuttering such an unbelievable tale as he did was telling the truth, and if the same thing happened to John, he'd be relieved: so be it. He could do with some—t

New Sherlock Fic

New Sherlock Fic

I just wanted to let the few of you who follow my Sherlock fanfic here know that I've started a new long Sherlock fic, that I don't think I'll be posting here. (I submitted Chapters 10 and 11 of Moebius to the BBC-Sherlock group a week and a half ago and they haven't gone through yet -- they actually expired and I had to re-submit...?) Unless, of course, there is anyone who will read it here if I post it here? Let me know if you're interested. Otherwise, if you want to read it, you can find it here. Title: A Conductor of Lightning Summary: In August 2009, John Watson was sent back to London with an injury and the memory of eight of his clo

Where I am these days...

In case it's not terribly obvious, I haven't been spending a lot of time on DA of late. This also means that I haven't been posting nearly all my stuff here (both drawings and writing). If you'd like to keep up with my stuff, I always post it to my Tumblr (art and links to fanfic and fanvids) and AO3 (fanfic). For instance, I've actually got a new chapter of The Case of the Moebius Trip up there that I haven't gotten around to posting here yet. I also have a lot of other Sherlock fanfic that I simply never posted here that's up on AO3. Just, er, thought I'd let you know, on the off chance there are one or two people who are interested in my

Hello valued :iconsaiyanlovers: member! I just wanted to let you know that this club is coming out of Hiatus. I did post a journal, but I also know that not everyone reads said journals so I will be messaging each member as I can over the next few days.

The main goal of this message is to let you know that I have added 6 new folders to the club because it has come to my attention that the main featured folder is full.

They are as follows:

1.) Dragonball
2.) Dragonball Z
3.) Dragonball GT
4.) Dragonball Super
5.) Crossovers
6.) FanMerch

If this club comes back to life, I may also add a fanfiction folder. It depends on how many people would request one (if you would want that added, please reply so in this comment).

I look forward to hopefully enjoying your art.

Thank you.

thanks for the fav :D
Hey, we have not talked in FOREVER. Whats new in the world?
Indeed! I keep thinking about that when I see your posts on Tumblr. :XD: Uh, let's see, I'm figuring out what all I'm doing for grad school, getting ready to teach some summer physics labs, and obsessing over Sherlock, with a little playing Diablo III on the side. Oh, and attempting to brew my own root beer (full disclosure: the first attempt was bad -- I didn't even get to the bottling stage because I knew the molasses flavor was too strong [like, that's all you could taste, ahaha...I added too much] -- so I'm trying again tomorrow). Yep, I think that's a pretty apt summary of what all's going on with me. (I suppose I should mention, I did graduate with my math and physics degrees, and no one even booed me out of my physics thesis presentation! Hooray! Haha.) How about you?
Awesome, awesome.

Sherlock's pretty good, for sure.

Were you planning on working on the Raditz fic again in the near future? I'm going to try to finish FRIGID soon, I only have two chapters to go, I just need to focus on that instead of all the XMFC stuff I've been doing.

I've been busy doing stuff with ISO, Occupy Toledo, and People for Change, which is a theory/reading group for graduates of the Inside/Outside prison exchange program. IDK if told you about that? These were the classes that I took inside the prison, with a mixed group of student inmates and students from my university.

Other than that, I presented a paper at a sociology conference earlier last semester, and now I'm entering my last year of my undergrad and getting my ducks in a row for grad school. Also, I was at the NATO protest in Chicago last week, and it was incredible and I'm really glad that I went, enough though I was pretty sure I was going to die during parts. Getting ready for the Socialism2012 conference next month.

Other than that? Lots of X-Men fic and mantises. I don't guess your lobata girl is still around?
Haha, I've been thinking about giving the Raditz fic another look, yeah. But, not sure how likely it is in the immediate future; I also have a Dragon Age fanfic that I got barely started on that I'd like to make more headway on. (But of course in the meantime Sherlock has snatched away all my attention, so I'm very slowly working my way into getting into the mood to work on older stuff.) I still occasionally get a person commenting on G&G, or adding it to their watch, which makes me feel bad. I think the last time I updated it was the September or October before last? Ahaha...still though, thinking about it, I'm sure it'd be fun to pick it back up...)

When you do post the next chapters of Frigid, I'll definitely be excited to read them! And I really do mean to read your XMFC stuff one of these days. There's just too much stuff to juggle. @_@ Or I'm just that disorganized. (I'm also grading for one of my profs, which is an additional scheduling complication. I'm grading the homework and the posts to the online discussion board, but the prof has made the criteria for the discussion board posts rather complicated, so I have to keep track of everything on a chart, haha.)

Well, I've seen a bit just from your Tumblr posts (goodness, you do sound very busy!). I remember you telling me that you were doing the Inside/Outside program. Sounds really neat/interesting...if you ever feel like rambling about it for a while, I'd be happy to read whatever you have to say. All your awesome activism stuff makes me feel very lazy indeed.

Very exciting! So you're planning on graduating next May(ish)? That's so cool that you got to present a paper at a conference...stressful? How did it go?
It sounds like you are having some incredible experiences at all these events. They sound amazing, though I feel like I'd get really stressed out, hah. The most traveling I've done recently was to visit some friends in Kansas City last weekend.

Nope, Cupcake died...hm...a few months ago? I'm trying to remember exactly when...I want to say sometime in February. I've been debating getting another mantis, but since I'm mostly staying at my parents' right now, I've got my other various animals to hang out with, so I may wait. (Also, my root beer hobby is currently sucking up my money a bit more than I thought it would, haha. This second batch, though, looks much, much more promising than the first batch. It actually smells like root beer...mmm.) What types of mantises are you keeping nowadays?
How is the X-Men fandom treating you?
