For almost two years, I've barely uploaded any art on this page. Two years ago, I had made plans to upload the next chapter of my fan comic in its entirety as a surprise and a thank you to all my readers. I've barely made any journal entries, telling you guys how I've been, what I've been doing, how my life is going, generally just keeping you updated.
And that's inexcusable.
I can tell you what I have been doing. I've been working on my original comic, and pretty much "making myself" continue on Astral Cross, so I could at least get that chapter finished. I've been playing Breath of the Wild and I've yet to face Calamity Ganon properly; I say "properly" because I ran into the Sanctum by accident while exploring Hyrule Castle and ended up fighting him unprepared. Guess what happened
Life is catching up to me and I'm now looking for a better paying job with a more stable work schedule, a.k.a. getting the FREAK out of retail and never looking back (I don't know if I can handle another "Black Friday" *is it even called that anymore?*). I'm also secretly searching for my own place, and trying to figure out how to save money so I can make rent when I do move. Bills are NOT helping! And, some medical issues have come up; hopefully they'll be resolved once and for all on Monday.
As far as art goes, I am still drawing and making art, a lot in fact, I just having been posting it here. Or anywhere. It's mostly of my original comic. ...I kind of feel I should give you guys a little more info on it.
So...this story is like a continuation of the fan comic. It takes place on Earth and something happened in the comic that Kira has to fix in the original story. So yeah, the fan comic is a "prequel". I realize that I'll have to write the fan comic into an original story if I ever plan on making money off of this, and to avoid copyright issues. So what does this mean for the fan comic?
I don't want to say it... I'm already mentally kicking myself... So I can't say it; I'm not going to say it, because I don't know. I'm really focused on the original right now, because I have MUCH more creative freedom. And...it's 100% mine! No issues with obsessive canon fans, especially certain shippers
, Nintendo can't touch this
, and all that jazz! ...Is this how Monty Oum felt when he created Dead Fantasy and RWBY? Speaking of which, I want to talk about something I've noticed for a while about RWBY at another time. But anyway, back on topic...
The reason I haven't been posting anything is because of two reasons:
1. It's not done. Most of what I'm working on isn't finished yet (character sheets/designs, wardrobe charts, setting appearance, etc.). In fact, most of it is still being brainstormed.
2. It's for me. I'm actually making all of these so I'll have quick and detailed references when I finally start the comic itself.
Will I ever post the work here? Yes, when it's complete.
In closing, I want to apologize to my Watchers, old and new, for not posting anything, literally, just about anything except a snippet or two of art, for nearly two years. You guys have been so kind to add me to your watch lists, and I haven't delivered
Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, that will change this year. I plan on doing a lot of things during 2018, and being more active here, even if just a little, is one of them.
